It won't be long before the Stampin' Up! 2020/2021 Annual Catalogue comes to an end. I really don't mind as the 2021/2022 Annual Catalogue is bound to be full of amazing new things. But it does mean I also have to accept the inevitable list of products that are to be retired. So now I've started looking at what I think could be on that dreaded list. Embossing folders tend to be culled quite drastically every year, and Tin Tile could be one whose days are numbered... TIN TILE 3D ... VIEW POST
Chocolate Box (and Recipe) Kind Of Day
How was your Christmas Day? Ours was very quiet although we did manage a lovely video call with our daughter and her family in the UK. We still had the full turkey dinner, even though there were only two of us. There's also plenty of leftovers so we won't starve over the next few days. We also ate far too much chocolate especially since my friend Liz introduced me to the most amazing chewy chocolate bites. I loved them so much I simply had to make some for myself with a little tweak to the ... VIEW POST
Tin Tile Distressed
If you've been following my blog you'll know that just recently I've been experimenting with breaking a few rules. I've decided that in papercrafting rule-breaking can lead to some very interesting results. So today it's the turn of the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It's true that to get the best results you need to spritz the card with water before running it through the Big Shot. But as this project shows, interesting things can happen when you don't. TIN ... Inked Edges For Contrast
Sometimes I like to keep things simple and forgo all the mats and layers. That's good in theory, but sometimes I find that everything kind of disappears into the background. That's exactly what happened with my sentiment this morning until I decided to add inked edges for contrast. TIN TILE BACKGROUND This project all started when I thought it was time to bring out the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I dampened a layer of Very Vanilla Card with clean water ... VIEW POST
Beautiful Sentiment Simple Colours
When I look back at my recent personal challenge to create 24 cards in 24 hours I'm very happy with the variety of projects I designed. Today's project is a favourite possibly because of the beautiful sentiment, but also because of the embossing. In fact these two types of embossing really makes a simple layout into something quite elegant. MONOCHROME BACKGROUND I began by using my Stampin' Trimmer to cut and score a piece of Thick Very Vanilla Card. Then I folded it along the scored ... VIEW POST
Tin Tile – Retro Design
Today I'm continuing my Stampin' Up! 2018 Holiday Catalogue sneak peeks with a really simple project. I've chosen to showcase the new Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder because it's simply gorgeous. The 6" x 6" embossing folder looks just like those retro ceilings that seem to be back in fashion. There's an amazing amount of detail in the design, and it looks good on foil and card. The tiled layout was perfect for the Less Is More challenge 378 (Sketch 24) and this was ... VIEW POST
