It’s been decades since I last rode a bike and I’m not even sure I could still do it. However the mountain biker in the Greatest Journey Dies really called to me. It reminds me of my son who never learned to drive but preferred to cycle everywhere. He loved the freedom cycling gave him to go anywhere and he liked to ride fast, especially when zipping past friends and work colleagues with a grin on his face. So using this simple silhouette and a sentiment I designed this card. GREATEST ... VIEW POST
Dainty Vintage Flowers
It’s Friday the 13th and there’s a snowstorm going on outside. Kind of how it feels inside my head right now with this nasty cold. It’s definitely a day to stay in and craft and that’s precisely what I intend to do. Today’s project is a quick one using the Dainty Flowers 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP). This gorgeous DSP reminds me of Victorian dried flower pictures I’ve seen in many stately homes in England. With a design this pretty I really didn’t have to do much else. DAINTY ... VIEW POST
By My Side Thank You
OK I admit it I may be slightly addicted to colouring my stamped images. I’m not an expert by any means but I do find it relaxing. Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers also make it ridiculously easy to get a nice even colour without those horrid lines other markers often leave. One of my favourite styles of focal point is a ‘scene’ and I’ve created a few using the characters from the By My Side Stamp Set. It’s such fun being able to put words into their mouths so to speak. Deer Leg Discovery
I’m one of those stampers who don’t mind rubber or photopolymer stamps. What is more important to me is the quality. Both types of stamps have their benefits and shortcomings. I particularly like photopolymer stamps as they make it really easy to get the placement just right. I also like that I can bend or move parts of some stamps to suit my purpose. However this second ability caught me out today. So that meant stamping the deer a second time, but the end result was worth it I ... VIEW POST
Label Me Fancy Punch Tip
Some time ago I posted a video with a tip for using just the small hole part of the Label Me Fancy Punch. I’ve had lots of feedback about that tip from paper-crafters who found it really useful. However it was only as I was creating today’s simple Sunday project that another helpful tip for that punch popped into my head. What’s most surprising is that it’s very similar to a tip I’ve already posted for the Very Best Trio Punch. Sometimes it’s the most obvious solutions that escape us. LABEL ... VIEW POST
Storybook Ending
Well it’s November 17th and today is the day we may see our first snow of the 2022/2023 winter season. The temperature has certainly come down a lot from the unseasonably warm weather we’ve been treated to this autumn. So today I thought it would be apt to bring you a snowy Christmas card idea. This was number 12 of the 24 cards I designed and made in a 24 hour period last weekend. My starting off point was the Storybook Gnomes paper which will be retiring all too soon. STORYBOOK ...
