I’m one of those stampers who don’t mind rubber or photopolymer stamps. What is more important to me is the quality. Both types of stamps have their benefits and shortcomings. I particularly like photopolymer stamps as they make it really easy to get the placement just right. I also like that I can bend or move parts of some stamps to suit my purpose. However this second ability caught me out today. So that meant stamping the deer a second time, but the end result was worth it I ... VIEW POST
Soft Autumn Thank You
My Facebook memory for today was a couple of photos I’d taken four years ago. They were the same view of maple trees in my front yard taken one day apart. I was actually comparing how different the autumn leaves looked as the sun came up versus when the sun was higher in the sky. This memory gave me the spark of an idea for today’s card project. So after pulling out four ink pads along with the Soft Seedlings and Go To Greetings Stamp Sets I quickly got started. SOFT SEEDLINGS START I ... VIEW POST
Oceanfront With Ukraine On My Mind
It’s hard to believe the events unfolding in Eastern Europe right now, and tough to think how this might play out. Let’s hope that diplomacy wins over aggression. Everywhere you look there’s blue and yellow, the colours of the Ukrainian flag, and that was certainly on my mind when I sat down to create today’s project. It had to be a ‘thinking of you’ kind of card, and blue and yellow inspired a peaceful scene. So with the Oceanfront and Celebrating You Stamp Sets at hand, ... VIEW POST
A Paper Pumpkin Thing – Safari Celebration
I can't believe it's already the last Thursday of the month. That means that it's time for another A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop. This month it's all about the Safari Celebration kit so let's get started. I only received my kit late on Tuesday so my two alternate projects needed to be quick and easy. SAFARI CELEBRATION First up I created a gift tag using the rollerskating elephant from the kit. While I already thought the elephant was cute, I decided I wanted more definition on ... VIEW POST
Quiet Meadow Vintage Style
Although I try not to copy anyone else's projects, as a papercrafter I’m endlessly fascinated by other artists’ design processes. Something I love but struggle with are collage style projects. These are most often found on scrapbook pages but I’ve seen some great examples on cards too. The other style I’m still working on is ‘vintage’. That’s a real challenge for me, but with practice I feel I’m definitely improving. Today’s experiment involved limiting myself to ... VIEW POST
Back To Normal Soon (I hope)
For some time I've known my laptop needed replacing. Having bought a new machine I decided it would make sense to transfer the programs and files over the course of a few weeks. That way it would be easier to find any problems and correct them. Well that was the plan, until today when nothing went right with the old laptop. So when I finally took a break I grabbed the Back On Your Feet Stamp Set and made a fridge magnet that says it all, complete with messy background and frayed (nerve) ... VIEW POST
