After making yesterday's card I realised that I'd created blue projects three days in a row. So today I was determined to avoid blue and chose a bright and cheerful red as my accent colour instead. I also pulled out the In The Woods Dies as they've been very neglected of late too. IN THE WOODS FIR TREES The In The Woods Dies includes has a couple of different tree styles plus some smaller accent dies. I decided for my Christmas tree tag I'd use the two fir tree dies. One of these ... VIEW POST
Starting The Day With Some Early Espresso
Brrr it's chilly out but my car now has a lovely new set of winter tyres. Now all I need to do is put the snow brush and shovel in the trunk and I'll be set for driving in the colder weather. Right now though I'm happy to stay indoors with a couple of toasted buttered crumpets and a warm cup of coffee. I suppose that's what led me to the colour scheme for today's project, Early Espresso with a touch of Very Vanilla. EARLY ESPRESSO STAMPING I began by creating the focal point for my ... VIEW POST
Sharing A Little Winter Joy
I'm not sure what happened yesterday but my "to do" list never really moved. It was one of those days where I just felt like curling up on the sofa with a good book. So that's what I did. I was deep into "The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest" by Stieg Larsson and I just couldn't put it down. So this morning's simple Sunday project had to be made in record time. JOY TO THE WORLD My pretty gift tag began with a small scrap of paper from the Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper ... VIEW POST
Copper Pine Cones For A Little Luxury
Today I was determined to make another Christmas gift tag and I knew what I wanted to use. I had in my head a vision of copper pine cones hanging from a leafy branch, so that's what I made. NEW TAG BASE I often use tag topper punches or simple die cut shapes for my tag bases, but not today. Today I decided to use the Beautiful Boughs Dies for something quite different. There are two 'label' type dies in the set and in the end I used both of them to cut some Thick Very Vanilla ... VIEW POST
It Looks Like A Curvy Christmas
Yesterday Stampin' Up! released some new products. Some are only available for a short time and some are on special early release from the January to June 2020 Mini Catalogue. Today I thought I'd use the Curvy Christmas Stamp Set for my project. Unfortunately it has just gone into "not orderable" status which means they have sold 2000 more than they currently have in stock! That's CRAZY! Anyway, as Stampin' Up! make the stamp sets at their own manufacturing facility in Utah it won't be long ... VIEW POST
Not A Lot Of Peace This Morning
Well this morning certainly hasn't gone according to plan. I have a rare day off and so many things I want to get done. Unfortunately it seems nothing I do seems to be going right, hence the very late blog post. So I may well pare my to do list right down to the essentials. Sometimes it's the sensible thing to do to bring a little peace and sanity to my life. Today, having made one card and been completely underwhelmed, I started again. This was the result...
