Sometimes its nice to say thank you with a treat. As a papercrafter I think it's even nicer to say thank you with a treat that's in a pretty package. So when I found a box of Merci chocolate (the stick kind) I couldn't resist. After a bit of trial and error I came up with this quick and easy idea using just a quarter sheet of cardstock. MERCI PACKAGE BASICS I began by using my Paper Trimmer to cut a 2-3/4" x 8-3/8" piece of Soft Succulent Card. Then with the short side at the top I ... VIEW POST
Wonderful Way To Stay On Track
As I get older I know that my memory is not as good as it used to be. So I definitely rely on lists to keep track of important things I need to do. I keep a notebook and pen in my handbag for when I'm out, and there's one on the fridge too. I've even trained hubby to add to the shopping list as soon as he realises we need something! As I'm working in my craft studio I'm often inspired with ideas for other projects and a pad on my desk is a must. So when I found a small daily desk planner I ... VIEW POST
Simple Watercoloured Camellia
When I have line-art stamp images with lots of open space I love to try different ways to add colour. Recently I've been a bit obsessed with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers so I decided to do something different for today's project. I know that not everyone is comfortable colouring, but I find it very relaxing. Today's bookmark features one of the camellia images from the So Much Love Stamp Set and 'watercolouring' technique. FIRST THINGS FIRST I began today's project by cutting a 2" ... VIEW POST
Step By Step Ornament Colouring
Today's project was supposed to be a quick gift tag using one of the ornament images from the Christmas Gleaming Stamp Set. In the end it took me a lot longer than I'd planned as I decided to stop and take a photograph at every stage. So with an unusually photograph heavy blog post, here's my finished project. TAKE ONE ORNAMENT So I started today's project with one of the larger ornament images in the Christmas Gleaming Stamp Set. Using Night of Navy ink I stamped the image onto Very ... VIEW POST
Home to work and back again
Every year I make myself a notebook to record my car expenses. I know you can buy pre-printed books for this purpose but they're so cramped I gave up on them several years ago. Since then Stampin' Up! has always obliged me by releasing just the right images and/or sentiments. This year it was the Coming Home Stamp Set that provided the inspiration for my 2021 vehicle notebook. COMING HOME Having decided to use images from the Coming Home Stamp Set I started with those. Using Tuxedo ... VIEW POST
Another Ink Pad Background Idea
Last week I showed you a fun technique for creating your own backgrounds using the 'ink swipe' technique. Today I have another quick and easy idea, the 'ink pad to paper' technique. As the name suggests the background is made by pressing the ink pad directly onto the paper or card. However unlike the ink swipe technique, this time you use a tapping type of motion. The result that you get depends on how much of the ink pad you allow to touch the paper, and how firmly you press. The result ... VIEW POST
