One of the problems with the Mini Catalogues is that it's really easy to think certain products can only be useful in certain seasons. Take the Little Treat Box Dies for instance, you may thinks they're really for Halloween or Christmas treats, but they ca be so much more. Today's project was inspired by thoughts of Valentine's Day or a dramatic wedding colour scheme. SCRIPTY EMBOSSING In my previous projects using the Little Treat Box Dies I've tried different techniques: a ... VIEW POST
Ending July With A Gilded Sneak Peek
It's Friday, the last day of the month and I woke up with the intention of making it as stress-free as possible. I failed. My trusty laptop is getting old and I am faced with the prospect of replacing it. Not something I relish, as while I can probably transfer over my existing programs and files, I will have to get used to a new operating system. Not to mention the cost! Oh well, after 8 years I suppose I should have seen it coming. So before everything locks up again, here's a ... VIEW POST
Always Something New To Try
If there's something I've learned in my crafting journey it's that there's always something new to try. Take this morning for instance, I'd planned a simple background using some patterned paper edged with a little foil sheet. I cut a strip 1/8" wide as I always do, and then an idea popped into my head... What if I cut a slightly wider strip and embossed it? And the rest, as they say, is history. PAPER FIRST I actually started this project by choosing the very subtle Petal Pink ... VIEW POST
Seabed Or Something Much More?
When your house overlooks the bay that has the highest tides in the world, you can't help gravitating to sea related images. Whether it's the beach, sailing or sealife, I always have to stop and take a second look. So it was with the new Whale Of A Time Suite in the Stampin' Up! 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue. From the fun stamp set, to the cute punch, to the bright and colourful Designer Series Paper (DSP), it definitely called to me. What I wasn't sure about was the Seabed 3D Embossing Folder. ... Piano Playing With Pink And Grey
Sometimes the only way to find out how to do something is to just try. I've had the Music From My Heart Stamp Set for a while but haven't used it a lot. I love the grand piano image but had no idea how to colour it without losing the detail. After putting it off for sometime, I decided to grab some Stampin' Blends alcohol markers and give it a go. In the end I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to do. A GRAND PIANO This project all began when I stamped the piano image onto a ... VIEW POST
A Wreath For Valentine’s Day and Beyond
Just recently I found a cute heart-shaped rattan wreath in the Valentine's section in Dollarama, and at just $3 CAD couldn't resist adding it to my basket. It was actually two pieces, a grey solid heart hanging inside a white open heart frame. They were held together with a simple piece of ribbon so I decided to remove the ribbon and separate the pieces to make two projects. Yesterday I began with the open frame piece and a quick idea for a pretty wreath. VALENTINE'S POPPIES I wanted ... VIEW POST
