Oh my goodness have you seen the Hippo Dies that you can get for free right now with a $60 order? I got mine at the same time as the coordinating Hippest Hippos Stamp Set (another of the free choices with a $60 order). Obviously I planned to use them together, well it made sense really, but after making today’s card I may have to change that plan. You see while the set cuts out the three hippo images, there’s another 16 dies to use in so many other ways. LAYERING DIORAMA As soon as I saw ... VIEW POST
Full Of Love Again
After my last card which was dominated by a very colourful watercoloured sunflower I decided that my next card project would be completely different. And they don’t get more different than this. Using the Full of Love Stamp Set I’ve gone from bright colours to much calmer shades of grey. There’s no die-cutting and no special techniques involved either. Instead it’s simply straight cut layers and easy colouring with markers. In fact I didn’t even colour the whole image, but included simple lines ... VIEW POST
Fern Texture Inspired
Do you ever find yourself looking at a product in the Stampin’ Up! catalogue and being unsure whether or not you like it? I know I do. Take the Fern 3D Embossing Folder, which is part of the Sun Prints suite. I had no hesitation in adding the stamp set, dies and paper to my Demonstrator pre-order but left off that embossing folder. However the more I thought about it, the more I came to realise my mistake. The all-over fern design is amazing, as today’s thank you card shows. 3D FERN ... VIEW POST
Brick Texture Adds Interest
Today’s card project comes to you courtesy of another design challenge. This time it was the Hand Stamped Sentiment Color Challenge that inspired me with a combination of three blues. Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Pacific Point would normally result a sea-themed project, and I have to admit it did cross my mind. However in the end I decided to go with something much more geometric. It was only later that I thought of embossing the background. So that’s when the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing ... VIEW POST
Snowflakes Are Melting Away
If you follow my Papercraft With Me Facebook page you may have seen a video I posted on Monday, filmed during the snowstorm we had that day. The highlight however was catching a pair of foxes playing in the garden. Normally they’re quite well camouflaged, but that morning with the snow on the ground they were much easier to see. Most of the snow has melted away now, but it inspired me to make one last Christmas card using the retiring Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set and So Many Snowflakes ... VIEW POST
Celebrating You For An Anniversary
Every card maker needs a good set of basic sentiments. Over the years I’ve collected a lot of them. Mostly they’ve come as part of a set with images, but not all. My current favourite sentiment-only stamp set is Celebrating You. This set of 16 sentiments covers most celebrations, and the fonts used are simply gorgeous. They’re crisp and clear and neat (I'm not keen on many of the ‘looser’ script styles). Today I decided it was time to make an anniversary card, and Celebrating You was there ... VIEW POST
