It’s no secret that I love daisies. They’re simple and uncomplicated and just make me smile. But while I was really sad when Stampin’ Up! retired their two daisy punches they’ve still left me with lots of alternatives. The most obvious one of course is the Cheerful Daisies Stamp Set and Dies Bundle. These are big and bold with lots of options for layering. Then there’s the smaller daisy shapes I found in the Dainty Delight Dies. However today’s quick project is all about the very tiny Loose ... VIEW POST
Embossing With Scraps
Today’s project is the result of another embossing experiment, a rediscovery of something from way back. It all started when I made a gift cracker to hold some paper money. After using the Cracker & Treat Box Dies to cut out the piece for the cracker I was left with some small diamond-shaped scraps. I’ve collected quite a few sets of these diamond shapes from various projects but never actually got around to using them. So today I decided to make something useful that also turned into a ... Best Family
There are some stamp sets that I seem to be addicted to and use over and over again. Others I buy because they have a specific use. Take the Days To Remember Stamp Set which is great for memory keeping. However today’s project features the Best Family Ever Stamp Set. This contains some regular sentiments (although I already have lots of those) but what drew me to this set was the variety of relationship sentiments like daughter, brother, husband etc. Perfect for turning a handmade project into ... IDEAS Blog Hop: Beside Me
It’s the first Wednesday in the month and that means it’s time for another IDEAS Blog Hop. This month our theme is “Holidays”. In crafting circles the holiday that immediately comes to mind is Christmas. But as someone originally from the UK, the word “holidays” is synonymous with vacations. That made me think of the Beside Me Stamp Set with images of adults and children spending quality time together. So I decided to create three coordinating projects, one for my blog and the other two for the ... VIEW POST
Celebrate With Fake Gold
And just like that it’s Monday again. I had a wonderfully productive weekend rediscovering old stamp sets and dies as I continued to reorganise my craft studio. I may even have made a Christmas card or two. Today’s elegant project uses the Celebrate With Tags Stamp Set which is a bit of a misnomer as it includes sentiments for lots of occasions without an actual ‘tag’ design in sight. For my colours I chose Wild Wheat which takes on the hue of antique gold when paired alongside rich Pretty ... VIEW POST
Natural Tones
When the Stampin’ Up! 2023/2024 Annual Catalogue was launched it included a colour refresh. This is the process where they retire some of their core colours and introduce (or bring back) new ones. So as part of reorganising my craft studio I’ve been taking stock of the colours I have in cardstock, ink pads, markers etc. That’s when I noticed that I’ve only got four of the five sets of Natural Tones Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. I’ll have to rectify that! Meanwhile here’s today’s project using ... VIEW POST
