When I designed this card during my personal “24 cards in 24 hours” challenge I had a feeling that the gnomes' days would be numbered. It’s a great stamp set but typical of those that are only available for a single catalogue. Of course I hoped I was wrong but sadly not., the Kindest Gnomes Stamp Set and Storybook Gnomes paper are both on the retiring list. What isn’t there though is the Gnomes Dies. That’s because there’s a new stamp set with coordinating spring/summer themed gnomes coming very ... VIEW POST
Painted Florets
For today’s project I wanted to play a little more with the Framed Florets Stamp Set and coordinating dies. Painting with ink gave me a very different look to my previous experiments and I have to say I love it. I’m not a painter by any means, but it seems that the image I chose is very forgiving. Even the flower centres, where the colour bled after I painted them before the adjacent petals were properly dry, somehow seems to work. It certainly gives me ideas for a future project. FLORETS ... Gnomes Got Me Thinking
You know it’s really funny the things I think about when I’m crafting. Take this morning for instance. I decided I wanted to use the new Kindest Gnomes Stamp Set that I recently ordered from the July to December Mini Catalogue. I was attracted to this stamp set as soon as I saw it, and the fact that it had coordinating dies didn’t hurt either. But as I reached for the stamps I wondered about whether there were girl gnomes as well as boy gnomes. And suddenly there she was... KINDEST ... VIEW POST
Ink For Painting
Did you know that July has been designated World Watercolor Month? While painting with ink mixed with water isn’t exactly what the originators had in mind, it’s as close as I get. I must admit that it’s been quite a while since I’ve picked up my Water Painters but this was the perfect excuse. So armed with the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set and a selection of ink pads I set to work. Admittedly it did take some time but I have to say that I’m delighted with the final result. WATERPROOF ... Abigail Rose Inspired
It’s no secret that I love colouring. Whether using markers, pencils or ink, I find colouring very relaxing. Of course I can’t draw to save my life which is why stamping is my passion. The stamp designer does the drawing and I just add the colour. So you can imagine my delight when I realised the Abigail Rose 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP) included sheets designed for that very reason. So I pulled out my Watercolor Pencils and set to work. Well it would be rude not to... ABIGAIL ROSE ... VIEW POST
A Mice Day To Retire
Today is May 25th and that means it’s only 7 months to Christmas. Just sayin’… But more importantly though it's also the day when Stampin’ Up! reveals the list of products being retired from the January to June 2022 Mini Catalogue. I’m still hoping that the New Horizons suite will be reprieved and we’ll get to play with it for a while longer. But just in case it isn’t I simply had to use that gorgeous paper, along with the definitely retiring Mischievous Mice (Host) Stamp Set, one last ... VIEW POST
