If you've been following my blog you'll know that my most recent order from Stampin' Up! has been a little tardy. It finally arrived yesterday, and while I'm happy to have now completed my collection of all the new ink pad colors, I'm delighted to finally be able to get my hands on the new Blended Seasons Stamp Set and coordinating Seasonal Frames Framelits Dies. Mr UPS was barely out of the driveway before I'd retreated to my craft studio to play with my goodies. This red rubber stamp set ... VIEW POST
Enjoy Life and playing with ink
It's funny how often something I did in school many years ago sparks an experiment in my craft studio. They're not always successful, but earlier in the week I created a really fun background that was just perfect for my Design Team contribution for this week's What Will You Stamp/ Challenge #WWYS177 - Enjoy Life. As luck would have it the Just Us Girls Challenge this week is #JUGS449 - Watercolour Background, and the Global Design Project challenge this week is #GDP147 - Country / Farm Life, ... VIEW POST
Flag day
Happy Canada Day everyone! It's going to be lovely here in Nova Scotia and it started well with a couple of special deals announced by Stampin' Up! for July, but more about that later. My simple Sunday project today might prove useful if you're visiting someone and taking flowers as a hostess gift, whether that's a bunch of cut flowers or a potted plant (which is my preferred way of receiving flowers). There'll be lots of flag waving going on today and that was the inspiration for ... VIEW POST
A place for everything

Well that happened to me this morning with the Accented Blooms Stamp Set from Stampin' Up! The blank area in the centre of the main image was designed to be filled in with a sentiment, whether stamped directly into the space or on a piece of card punched out using the coordinating Tailored Tag Punch. Today however I saw a place holder with an area ... VIEW POST
Blooming inspired
It's no secret that I love colouring, whether that's with pencils, ink or markers I don't mind, and I'm always attracted to stamp sets that are designed with that as an option. The new Accented Blooms is one such stamp set and I was inspired to create a border of flowers using the main focal image from the set. I started with a layer of Very Vanilla Card and used StazOn Jet Black Ink to stamp sections of the main image from the Accented Blooms Stamp Set around the edges, taking care to ... VIEW POST
Orchids and angels
Today our son would have been 32 had he not died unexpectedly last summer, so I wasn't sure whether I'd feel up to creating something in my craft studio for today's blog. I had considered a scrapbook page, but to be honest that's still a hard task. So in many ways having his birthday fall on a Monday when I usually show you a project I've created for the What Will You Stamp? Challenge Design Team, made that decision a little easier. The challenge this week is WWYS168 - Climbing Orchid and I ... VIEW POST
