This time last week I was preparing for my first craft show of the season. I love talking to everyone who visits my table and get feedback on my designs. It’s funny how many people are drawn to projects that include images of animals and thankfully I had lots to show them. I do need to stock up though, so during my personal “24 cards in 24 hours” challenge animals did feature on many of the cards. Number 6 of the 24 was this one with a custom-coloured embossed penguin. Snowflake Specialty Vellum
Well if you blinked yesterday where we are in Nova Scotia you might have missed the first snow of the season. But I definitely saw a snowflake or two in the air just after mid-day. The forecast says we’ll get more over the coming week but not really enough to bother us. Still, it’s definitely time to change over to winter tyres. Yesterday was a productive day in the craft room with another stack of projects made. One of those was this gnome notebook covered with some Snowflake Specialty ... VIEW POST
Wintry Embossing Two Ways
Woo hoo, I’ve finally received my new modem. It took me two attempts to get everything up and running (my ISP provider decided to rename my WiFi and change the password as part of the ‘repair’). So now I’m able to get back to my daily blogging schedule. I didn’t waste the time but instead decided to try out a few techniques on some new projects. Today I have two different ways to enhance your dry embossing. Both use the stunning snow design from the Wintry 3D Embossing Folders ... VIEW POST
Storybook Vibes
After a few warm and sunny days, this morning has dawned very differently. Today we awoke to thick fog with a definite chill in the air. Still, it wasn’t all bad because as the light improved we noticed four adult deer enjoying their breakfast that is our lawn. One of the things I love most about living in rural Nova Scotia is seeing the animals that visit our property. So you won’t be surprised they inspired today’s project featuring a deer from the Storybook Gnomes Designer Series Paper (DSP) ... VIEW POST
Penguin Playtime
Lots of things to do, so I’m thankful today is Sunday and that means a simple project. I was actually a little cold when I woke up this morning and although the day will warm up, winter is on my mind. So when I sat down at my craft table the Penguin Place Stamp Set inevitably popped into my head. This is a two-step stamp set which means the various pieces can be combined to create lots of different scenes. With a little Saran Wrap technique, this was the result. PENGUIN PLACE PIECES I ... Gnome Dies Discovery
I love knowing that Stampin’ Up! produces dies to coordinate with a particular stamp set. The only problem is that I often get tunnel vision and forget to check out the extra dies that are included in the set. By that I mean the ones that don’t coordinate with a stamped image. So I’ve been on a mission to discover (or rediscover) some of these gems. This morning it was the turn of the Gnome Dies. But as well as making the cute gnome, there was an extra special surprise...
