When I'm papercrafting I often sit down with no particular idea in mind. If I'm looking for inspiration it may be as simple as picking up a stamp set and starting to stamp. Once I've completed one step, the next one seems to come naturally. My strategy is to just keep playing and see where the journey takes me. That doesn't mean I do something and then never change my mind. It happens. However any unused pieces will be set aside and end up on another project later. I must admit though ... VIEW POST
IDEAS Blog Hop – Punch It Up
Today is an exciting day for me as I join the IDEAS Design Team in time for their November blog hop and Tutorial PDF release. This month the theme is "Punch It Up" and our brief was to create projects using our favourite punch. I could have chosen something that coordinates with a stamp set, but opted for something completely different instead. I decided to focus on the punch I use more than any other, the Detailed Trio Punch. SNOWMAN SEASON OK I know I've used the Snowman Season Stamp ... VIEW POST
Peaceful Place For Christmas Cards
Once again Stampin' Up! knocked it out of the park with their October Paper Pumpkin kit called Peaceful Christmas. This amazing kit was designed to coordinate with the Peaceful Place suite in the July to December 2021 Annual Catalogue. As a result, even if you didn't get the actual kit there are lots of design ideas you can take from it to make your own Christmas cards. PEACEFUL CHRISTMAS START This card uses a combination of pieces from the Peaceful Christmas kit starting with one of ... VIEW POST
Pink Snowflakes For A Very Different Look
Where do you get your inspiration? I find it in all sorts of places. I may see something online or in a store that sparks an idea. Often it's not the whole thing but just an element of it. Colour schemes are often found as I'm out and about. I've been in a restaurant and seen someone wearing a colourful outfit that drew my eye. Then out comes the notebook and I jot down the 'Stampin' Up! colours' that the outfit suggests to me. Today's treat/gift bag project was inspired by the Whimsy ... VIEW POST
Label Me A Winter Scene Gift Tag
Last week I created a birthday gift tag with a dancing chicken. I loved how bright and cheerful it was, but it did involve quite a bit of work. So for this week's simple Sunday project I wanted to pare it right back. Today's project is a "Just for you" tag with a winter theme, using a couple of label punches to create the tag base. LABEL TAG Instead of making a rectangular tag using one of Stampin' Tag Topper Punches I thought I'd see what other punches I could use. It was then I ... VIEW POST
Peaceful Deer Isn’t All Animals
Just recently I received an order containing the Peaceful Deer Stamp Set and coordinating Deer Builder Punch. By adding some adhesive to my order I'd bumped up the total, and earned a free product from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure. It made sense to choose the Peaceful Prints 12" x 12" Designer Series paper (DSP) pack as it coordinates with the stamp set. Plus it was free and who wouldn't want free papercrafting stuff? Still, when I got the stamp set it wasn't the deer that excited me, it ... VIEW POST
