Apparently there’s a big snowstorm coming today. I’ve somehow managed to miss watching the weather forecast the past couple of days and it’s caught me by surprise. Thankfully today’s simple Sunday project was made some time ago. In fact it’s the last one from my personal '24 cards in 24 hours' challenge to mark World Card Making Day. I used two stamp sets to make this easy sympathy card. First, Painted Poppies which is an image-only set. Then I chose one of my favourite sentiment-only stamp sets ... VIEW POST
Stylish Classic Car
Yesterday was glorious with temperatures in the double digits and wall-to-wall sunshine. Last week’s snow melted away, and we finally had a little spring sneak peek. Today however is a different day, and as this is Nova Scotia winter hasn’t finished with us quite yet. Today’s forecast includes six hours of ice pellets and freezing rain. That won’t be fun, as thick ice coating the trees and power lines has the potential to knock out the power. So while I finish preparations for that, here’s a ... VIEW POST

Last November I completed my annual challenge to design and create 24 cards in 24 hours. It should have happened on World Card Making Day but was delayed due to Hurricane Fiona. Since then I’ve been bringing you the cards I made and providing instructions for your own personal use. Unfortunately some of my posts had to be delayed as products I used became temporarily ‘not orderable’. This is what happened with today’s birthday card featuring the Stepping Stones Stamp Set and the now back in ... VIEW POST
Warm And Cosy
Ooh it was mighty cold yesterday. The outdoor thermometer hovered around minus 24 Centigrade for most of the day. Thankfully the arctic air has moved on and it’s warming up. Not that it will be warm by any means, but hovering around zero is a lot more bearable. Being the sensible person that I am, I decided the extreme weather was Mother Nature’s way of telling me I should stay warm and cosy in my craft studio. While playing I came across this simple card I’ve not yet shown you. WARM ... VIEW POST
By My Side Thank You
OK I admit it I may be slightly addicted to colouring my stamped images. I’m not an expert by any means but I do find it relaxing. Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers also make it ridiculously easy to get a nice even colour without those horrid lines other markers often leave. One of my favourite styles of focal point is a ‘scene’ and I’ve created a few using the characters from the By My Side Stamp Set. It’s such fun being able to put words into their mouths so to speak. BY MY SIDE ... VIEW POST
Hope And Prayer Simplicity
One of the things I always like to point out at this time of year is that Christmas isn’t a happy time for everyone. We have a friend who lost their daughter on Christmas Day and for them Christmas will always bring with it sad memories. However I feel it’s still really important to send a card to let them know we are thinking of them. Today’s project with a “You are in my prayers” sentiment and cross image from the Hope & Prayer Stamp Set could be one option. If this card seems ... VIEW POST
