Well following yesterday's confusion over the blog hop which isn't actually until next week, thankfully my day improved. If you can overlook the fact that my blog was 5 hours late being published, it was quite productive really. Today I need to double-check all the entries in my diary for December just to make sure I haven't made any other silly errors. Once that's done I want to plan out how I'm going to make it to the end of my to do list before running out of month. For today's project I ... VIEW POST
Lighthearted Lines For A Senior Moment
One of the fun things about collecting stamp sets is being able to mix and match them. Some sets like Lighthearted Lines only contains sentiments, so if I want an image I have no option than to look elsewhere. But other times I find fun new combinations as I combine older sets with newer ones. Today's simple Sunday card project is a case in point. Lighthearted Lines has some great fun sentiments but one in particular stood out and I knew exactly where to find an appropriate image. So out ... VIEW POST
Hand-Penned Birthday Reminder
With all the focus now on Christmas (and Thanksgiving in the US) it's easy to forget that other reasons to send cards doesn't stop. People are still getting engaged and married, having babies and celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, retirement and more. So today I decided to bring you a floral birthday card using pretty Hand-Penned paper. PRETTY PENNED FLOWERS I actually created this card as part of my 24 cards in 24 hours challenge marking World Card Making Day last month. If you ... VIEW POST
Pets Always Keep Us On Our Toes
I'm a cat person. There I've said it. I had a variety of pets as a child, dogs, cats, rabbits etc. But I love the individuality and personality of cats. We currently have Houdini (who's just popped into the craft room to remind me I haven't given him breakfast...). He's a sweet black cat, 11 years old now, but still spritely enough to catch the occasional mouse. Last month right in the middle of my 24 cards in 24 hours challenge Houdini caught me unawares and brought a live mouse into the ... VIEW POST
Birthday Sentiment Without Any Stamping
When I was doing my personal World Card Making Day challenge last month I really tried to make each of my 24 cards quite different. I varied the stamps sets, used patterned paper and made my own backgrounds. I even varied the occasions too. This masculine / gender-neutral birthday card was the 5th card I made that day, and it was all about the paper. I tried stamping a sentiment, but in the end the Birthday Chick Dies won out. SIMPLY ELEGANT PAPER This card design really began with ... VIEW POST
Back To Black And Quiet Meadow
So it's October 31st and another month has simply flown by. My regular readers will know I'm not big on Halloween but in the 'spirit' of the occasion I thought I'd bring you this black card. It's a "Thinking of You" card using a sentiment from the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set. If you followed my 24 cards in 24 hours challenge earlier this month on Facebook you may remember it. This is probably one of my favourites from that marathon session. I don't often design mainly black cards, but this one ... VIEW POST
