I'm continuing my quest to combine retiring products with some sneak peeks of new ones. Today's retiring products are the Tropical Chic Stamp Set and coordinating Tropical Dies, alongside the Woven Threads Designer Series Paper. My sneak peek is another new In Color, Just Jade. Like the Misty Moonlight I showed you yesterday, Just Jade has a muted feel, with grey undertones. I thought it would be perfect for this masculine thank you card. NEUTRAL BASE To ensure that the Just Jade ... VIEW POST
We’re Losing Layered With Kindness
This morning I have some more retiring products to draw to your attention. Plus a simple technique for getting even more from your patterned paper. The retiring stamp I've chosen for today is Layered with Kindness. ALTERED PAPER I love most of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from Stampin' Up! but sometimes I get bored. So every now and then I experiment. Today I used an .05 Journaling Pen to add a little dramatic accent. The diamond design is from the retiring Woven Threads DSP ... VIEW POST
Turn Ornate Layers Into Fancy Frames
My regular readers will know that I love getting more from my papercrafting supplies. Today I had no plan other than to experiment a little with the new Ornate Layers Dies. In the end I discovered how easy it is to turn a layer into a frame for a pretty card. CHOOSING MY COLOURS My first task was to decide on a background and I ended up selecting a piece from the Woven Threads 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. The DSP then gave me my colour palette; Whisper White, ... VIEW POST
Stepping It Up With Threads And Pearls
Last week I created a simple masculine card with a design using just stamps, ink and paper. Today I thought it would be fun to take the same layout and step it up a little. For this card I chose the Woven Threads Designer Series Paper (DSP), and also added ribbon and pearls. In an effort to show you just how simple it can be to add extras to a basic card design I decided to cut all my pieces exactly the same size as before. And I placed them in exactly the same positions. I even used the ... VIEW POST
Kindness and compassion is always remembered
Before I start my new mini catalogue sneak peeks this weekend I've been playing with some of my older stamp sets. Today's #simplestamping project uses two sentiments from Kindness & Compassion. I love this set and the sentiments make creating sympathy and sympathy acknowledgement cards so much easier. SIMPLE LAYOUT When I'm creating sympathy or sympathy thank you cards I always try to keep them simple and uncluttered. It just seems to suit my purpose better. I began by cutting ... VIEW POST
My World Card Making Day Challenge
Right now I'm in the middle of my personal World Card Making Day challenge. The plan is to design and create from scratch 24 cards in 24 hours, and coordinate the insides of the cards and envelopes too. I started my challenge at 6pm last evening and so have 10 hours left to achieve my goal. You can follow my progress over on my Facebook page where I'm posting snapshots of the cards as they are completed. Over the coming weeks I'll take better photos and post each project on my blog with ... VIEW POST
