My regular readers will know that I love getting more from my crafting supplies. Today's project features an experiment using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder to give my pine cone a very unique look. TEXTILE BACKGROUND Before getting to the pine cone though I first needed to prepare the other parts of the project. For this I chose a woven textile design from the In Good Taste 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. I began by using my Paper Trimmer to cut and score some ... VIEW POST
Not A Lot Of Peace This Morning
Well this morning certainly hasn't gone according to plan. I have a rare day off and so many things I want to get done. Unfortunately it seems nothing I do seems to be going right, hence the very late blog post. So I may well pare my to do list right down to the essentials. Sometimes it's the sensible thing to do to bring a little peace and sanity to my life. Today, having made one card and been completely underwhelmed, I started again. This was the result... Joy And Frustration In Equal Measure
Not to nag or anything but did you realise that it's been three months since I started giving you a Christmas countdown? Yep, three months, and in another three months it will be Christmas Day. I don't know about you but with half the time gone I haven't completed half of my planned craft projects. I'm not even close. But there was a sense of satisfaction and joy that at least I'd started. That was until I took a second look at today's project and it occurred to me my mistletoe was upside ... VIEW POST
Sending More Christmas Blessings
Of all the Christmas stamp sets available from Stampin' Up! right now my favourite has to be Wrapped in Christmas. I immediately fell in love with the Christmas Blessings sentiment and make no apologies for using it again on today's card. CHRISTMAS PLAID I thought that today I'd make a Christmas card that was simple with a bit more of a masculine feel. So I began by choosing the Cherry Cobbler / Real Red plaid design from the 'Tis The Season 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (DSP) ... VIEW POST
Exploiting The Power Of Three Layers
When designing cards I often don't have a plan other than "use this sentiment", or "I like this paper". But recently I've come to realise that many of my favourite cards consist of three basic layers. I've always known that odd numbers, and three in particular, are pleasing to the eye, so I shouldn't have been surprised to create another variation on that theme. POINSETTIA PLACE This project began a few days ago when I decided to cut a piece of the white poinsettia and pine pattern ... VIEW POST
The Most Elegant Christmas Sentiment
Of all the stamp sets in the Stampin' Up! August to December 2020 Mini Catalogue one of my favourites has to be "Wrapped In Christmas". With the exception of one tiny decorative image, this is a sentiment only stamp set and it's gorgeous. Each sentiment is a good size and perfect for a focal point on a card. They're also different shapes too, some long, some tall, some plainer and some very fancy. I can see this being a set I'll use over and over again this season. Today I wanted to make a ... VIEW POST
