I’m a bit of a details person and I often notice things that others overlook. Like the expressions on the faces of the characters in the new Stampin’ Up! Stamp Set called Animal Outing.
The eyes of the frog and the giraffe in today’s project are really expressive and are just begging for a caption. For now though I decided to concentrate on the images.
I began with a 2″ x 5-1/2″ strip of Thick Whisper White Card punched at the top using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.
Using Crumb Cake ink I stamped the giraffe image from the Animal Outing Stamp Set on the left side and then added the branch with the frog, above the giraffe’s head on the right, using Old Olive ink. To fill out the scene a little I stamped the end of the branch again a couple more times with Old Olive ink.
I closed the ink pads and pressed on the lids so some of the ink from the foam pads would be transferred to the inside of the lids, then when I opened them I could use a Blender Pen to colour in my images. I used Crumb Cake for the giraffe and the branches, with Lemon Lime Twist and Old Olive for the frog and the leaves.
To finish I threaded a length of Grapefruit Grove twine from the Nature’s Twine pack through the hole at the top of the bookmark.
Sweet and simple, but I still haven’t decided what the giraffe is saying to make the frog roll his eyes like that…
You’re RIGHT! I’m not so sure that I could even resist adding a caption of some sort. Cute set. Very cute bookmark too!! TFS
Thank you Geraldine, maybe I should run a caption competition, I’m sure my readers could come up with some great ideas for these two.
