Hi everyone! Thank you so much for visiting my blog here on PapercraftWithMe.com. Today is a big day as I’m now only publishing my daily projects here, and my old Stampin’ Up! blog has been gracefully retired. You can still visit my old blog to read previous posts and see the 1000+ projects I’ve made and shown over the past 4 years, but there’ll be no new projects there.
For today’s project I wanted to give you another idea for using the new Love What You Do Stamp Set which is on early release during May as part of three different bundle options (which include free products). From June 1st the bundles with free products will no longer be available, but instead you’ll be able to buy all the separate parts of the Share What You Love Suite individually.
If you’ve followed me from my old blog you’ll have already seen some of my previous projects using the Love What You Do Stamp Set, so for today’s sneak peek I wanted to show you a pretty new card colour. Let me introduce Balmy Blue which is joining the Subtles colour family.
I began this card with a layer of Balmy Blue Card and used one of the new 2018-2018 In Colors, Blueberry Bushel, to stamp a border using the edge of the large watercolour background image from Love What You Do. Blueberry Bushel is quite a deep colour so to create the lighter version of it I inked up the stamp and then stamped it onto some scrap paper before stamping on the card. This is called ‘stamping off’.
Next I used my Stampin’ Trimmer to cut and score a piece of Whisper White Card, folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder. The prepared background was then fixed to the front of the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
For my focal point I used Blueberry Bushel ink to stamp the branch with the berries onto a piece of Whisper White Card. I coloured the berry clusters with the smallest abstract watercolour image from the Love What You Do Stamp Set using Mint Macaron ink that I’d first stamped-off.
With liquid glue I attached the Whisper White piece to a layer of Balmy Blue Card and then tore around the edges. These rough edges were given more dimension with some Blueberry Bushel ink added with a piece of Stampin’ Sponge. I then fixed the assembled piece to the centre of my card.
Next came the thank you sentiment. I knew that I was going to fussy cut the words and then pop them up on pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals so I needed them to be really sturdy. I used liquid glue to stick 3 pieces of Whisper White Card on top of each other then stamped the sentiment with Blueberry Bushel ink. I cut out the sentiment with Paper Snips and attached it to the Whisper White layer on my card.
To complete the front of the card I tied a simple bow from a length of Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine and added it just below the sentiment with a mini glue dot.
I love to decorate the inside of my cards and envelopes to coordinate with the card fronts and for this project I stamped the same berry image in Blueberry Bushel and Mint Macaron inks in the bottom right corner on a layer of Whisper White Card, and on the front of a Whisper White Medium Envelope. The Whisper White layer was fixed to the inside of the card base with liquid glue and I was done.
So do you like the new blue? I think it’s going to be one of my goto colours.
