Yesterday’s birthday gift tag was all about the New Horizons Designer Series Paper (DSP) background. Plus of course, that cute stamped, punched and padded hedgehog. Today I decided to keep things clean and simple with another new stamp set called In The Moment. If you’ve enjoyed the Beautiful Moments or the (now retired) Beautiful You Stamp Sets, you’ll love this one. This set has three large line art scenes with three sentiments. While the images are designed to be coloured, it’s not essential. So that’s what I wanted to show you today.

IN THE MOMENT
As this card is all about the In The Moment Stamp Set that’s where I began.
I cut a piece of Very Vanilla Card at 3-3/4″ x 5″ and another at 4″ x 5-1/4″. Then I chose the window scene image from the In The Moment Stamp Set and inked it up with Tuxedo Black ink.
First I stamped the image in the bottom left corner of the smaller of the two Very Vanilla layers. Then, without reinking the stamp, I stamped the image in the bottom left corner on the other piece. Finally I reinked the stamp and ‘stamped-off’ onto some scrap paper, Then I stamped the image onto the front of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope. By stamping-off onto scrap paper I made this image lighter too.
I wanted my project to come together quickly so I chose Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers for the colouring.
On all three images I coloured in the window frame and ledge using the light and dark Soft Sea Foam markers. Then I set aside the larger of the two card pieces and the envelope while I continued colouring the smaller piece.
For the girl’s hair I first used dark Pumpkin Pie before going over it with lines of dark Crumb Cake. Then I used light and dark Flirty Flamingo for her shirt. On the cushions I used light and dark Pumpkin Pie, with light Crumb Cake on the mug.
I wanted her trousers to have a sort of denim look so I combined different colours to achieve that effect. I began with light Balmy Blue, then went over it with light Smoky Slate. Finally I went over these two layers of colour with the dark Balmy Blue. To finish the image I used the dark Balmy Blue for her hair slide and Ivory for her skin.
With the colouring complete I began to think about the rest of the card.
ENCIRCLED IN FRIENDSHIP
Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I first mounted the smaller Very Vanilla piece onto a 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ piece of Soft Sea Foam Card. Then using Tear & Tape Adhesive I attached some Very Vanilla 3/8″ Scalloped Lace Trim about 1″ from the top edge. Next, along the top of the lace I added a piece of 3/8″ Misty Moonlight ribbon from the Cotton Ribbon Combo Pack. Finally, along the top of the ribbon I glued a 1/8″ x 3-7/8″ strip of Soft Sea Foam Card.

Instead of using one of the sentiments from the In The Moment Stamp Set I pulled out the Encircled In Friendship Stamp Set instead. I knew exactly what I was looking for… “Just a note to let you know someone thought of you today”. This suited the image perfectly. So, using Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the sentiment onto some Very Vanilla Card. After punching it out using the Label Me Lovely Punch I attached the sentiment over the ribbon and lace with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
All I needed now was a card base and for that I chose Misty Moonlight Card. Using my Paper Trimmer I cut and scored the card, then folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
Next I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the assembled layers to the front of the card base. I then added the second piece of Very Vanilla Card to the inside with liquid glue.
I just had one final detail to add… on the front of the card I went over each window pane using a Clear Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush. This added a subtle shimmer to the ‘glass’ which finished off the project nicely.
I love how this project turned out. The front of the card is quite colourful and definitely catches the eye. However, while the envelope and inside of the card use the same image they’re much more understated with just a hint of colour. Please eave a comment below and share your thoughts on this project.
