This morning I woke up with absolutely no idea what I was going to make for my blog project. Yes I know I should make it at least the night before, but sometimes life gets in the way. Then I read this morning’s notices from Stampin’ Up! In May our #simplestamping focus is on retiring stamp sets, and projects should use just stamps, ink and paper. Well that was easy. All I needed was to choose a stamp set, so why not Cookie Cutter Christmas?

BABY BLUE
With yesterday’s news about the new royal baby I decided a blue baby card was in order. So I chose Balmy Blue and Night of Navy, plus Whisper White for my colour scheme.
I cut and scored some Night of Navy Card, folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create the card base.
Then on the front I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to fix a piece of Balmy Blue card from my scrap tin.
Next I needed a layer of Whisper White card and a Whisper White Medium Envelope.

On the card and the front of the envelope I used Balmy Blue ink to stamp the teddy peeking in from the bottom right corner. Then I added the ears. Finally I stamped the facial features using Tuxedo Black ink.
TIP – To get the face of the teddy just right I line up the top of his nose with the top of the white circle.
Now the peek-a-boo teddies were done I fixed the Whisper White layer inside the card base with liquid glue.
HAPPY FACE
That just left the second piece of Whisper White Card.
This time I stamped the whole teddy image and added the ears and face as before.

Although the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp set is primarily a Christmas set, it does have a less seasonal sentiment. So I chose ‘put on a happy face’ and stamped it over the teddy image using Tuxedo Black ink.
Then once I’d attached the layer to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals my teddy card was complete.

PRODUCT LIST
I am going to miss Cookie Cutter Christmas and the coordinating Cookie Cutter Builder Punch which is also retiring. The punch is now only available while stocks last, while stocks of the stamp set are guaranteed until May 24th. I know that’s still 7 months until Christmas, but if you don’t yet have this set, time is running out. Although I didn’t use the punch today, I’ve added it to the end of my product list in case you want to take a look at this too.
Love this set and really hate to see it go. It’s staying in my craft room though! Cute card and nice to see it done in the new Balmy Blue … I really like it a lot! Very sweet.
Thank you Geraldine
