It’s Christmas Eve already and I’m wondering what happened to the rest of December? In fact I’m not entirely sure where 2019 went. I suspect you have a mountain of things still to do so today’s sneak peek will be a quick one. While it’s cold outside there’s no harm in dreaming of warmer weather and so I chose the new Timeless Tropical Stamp Set for today’s card. This comes from the Stampin’ Up! January to June Mini Catalogue that goes live to customers on January 3rd.

SIMPLE MASKED IMAGES
I began my project by stamping the large hibiscus flower and separate leaf image onto a Full-Adhesive Post-It Note®. Then I cut out the images using Paper Snips to create masks.
Next, I took two layers of Whisper White Card and a Whisper White Medium Envelope. On one of the pieces of card I stamped the flower image using Rococo Rose ink then I placed the flower-shaped mask on top. With the flower protected I stamped a leaf image overlapping the flower using Mint Macaron ink. I placed a leaf mask over the top of that and then stamped another leaf peeking out from behind the first.
I removed the leaf mask and then stamped another leaf peeking out from behind the flower. As before I placed the mask on the leaf and stamped a second leaf beside it. Then I stamped one final leaf and removed all the masks. I now had a pretty floral image with the flower sitting among the leaves.
Turning my attention to the second Whisper White card piece I repeated the stamping and masking process. This time however I stamped the flower coming in from the bottom right corner with just a couple of leaves. Finally I stamped the same smaller flower arrangement in the bottom right corner on the front of the envelope.
Now the only stamping left to do was the “Rest & Relax you deserve it sentiment”. I chose Highland Heather ink for this, stamping it on the piece with the complete flower image.
To finish off the design I selected a Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Marker from the Regals collection. Then using the brush tip I coloured in the stamen on each of my three flowers.

SIMPLE LAYERS
With all the Timeless Tropical stamping done all I had left to do was assemble my card.
I began by using my Paper Trimmer to cut and score a piece of Thick Whisper White Card. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create a card base.
Next, using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I mounted the piece with the sentiment onto some Highland Heather Card. Then just for a change I fixed the assembled layers tight into the bottom left corner of the card base.
All I had left was the second stamped piece of Whisper White Card. Once I’d I fixed that to the inside of the card base my project was complete.
COLOUR INSPIRATION

My colour choices for this project were not random but are actually the colours that will be used in the January 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit “I’ll Bee Yours”. The kit will contain everything you need to create 20 treat packets and ten 3″ x 3″ cards with envelopes. As well as all the prepared pieces you’ll also get a mini ink spot and exclusive photopolymer stamp set, along with full instructions.
You still have time to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin and get the January kit. The deadline is January 10th, however if demand is high they may have to close subscriptions earlier. Stampin’ Up! guarantee you’ll love the kit and if not they’ll resolve any issues. If you subscribe through me simply let me know and I’ll deal with it for you. This kit is going to be awesome so why not start the new year by taking Paper Pumpkin for a test drive?
TIMELESS TROPICAL
This Timeless Tropical Stamp Set is simply gorgeous and has a lovely combination of images and sentiments. If you’re not a fan of fussy-cutting there will also be a set of coordinating In The Tropics Dies available too. They’re both part of the Tropical Oasis Suite which includes a new 3D embossing folder, trinkets, burlap trim and more.
I’ll have more from the Tropical Oasis Suite in future blog posts, but in the meantime here’s a look at the complete Timeless Tropical Stamp Set.

PRODUCT LIST
I got the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set and coordinating In The Tropics Dies (not used today) using the ‘bundle’ item number. This meant I saved 10% off the cost of buying the two items separately. I’ve included links to both options below so you can explore these for yourself.
Very pretty results with all of your masking … and perhaps a welcome change from all the current seasonal cards too; certainly the sentiment is an invitation I suspect many would welcome right about now. Wishing you, Alex & Houdini a time to do just that tomorrow too! Merry Christmas!
Thank you Geraldine, yes that’s the plan. Merry Christmas to you and all your family.
