Treats to enjoy

May 31, 2018 4 Comments

I’m still trying out different options for table favours for our daughter’s wedding and it’s a great excuse to play with some new products from the Stampin’ Up! 2018/2019 Annual Catalogue.  As well as being pretty, the favours have to be quick to make and stand up to being packed in my luggage, so nothing flimsy will do.

I’ve decided that the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) would be the perfect product to use.  Although it’s called ‘paper’ it’s a much heavier weight than the usual DSP from Stampin’ Up!, in fact it’s more like card and ideal for boxes.  What’s more, with many of the sheets having a pearlised finish I can get a luxurious look without having to add panels and layers to a plain box base.  That’s going to save a lot of time without compromising on the design.

So here’s me making my prototype.

My DSP was cut 5″ x 6-1/2″.  It was scored on the long side at 2″, 3″ 5″ and 6″, and on the short side at 1/2″, 1-1/2″, 3-1/2″ and 4-1/2″.

As promised here’s the scoring and cutting diagram that goes with the measurements above to create a 2″ x 2″ x 1″ box.

Basic layout diagram to create a fold-flat box from card.

So what do you think?  Could this be ‘the one’?  If so, I’m going to make myself another cup of coffee and eat those York Peppermint Patties as a reward.

Fold flat 2" x 2" x 1" treat box created using Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper and Eastern Palace Stamp Set from Stampin' Up!

LAST CHANCE FOR FREE PRODUCTS

Individual packs of the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) used to make the box, and Grapefruit Grove Card used under the sentiment, will be available to buy from tomorrow, June 1st.  Alternatively you can get them now as part of the Share What You Love promotion (the DSP is in the ‘Gotta Have It All’ bundle).  There are 3 different bundles to choose from, and each one contains free product, but you’ll need to act now as this early release offer ends today.

As the links in my shop don’t make it clear, here’s the free item(s) included in each bundle.

  • ‘Just Getting Started’ – Very Vanilla Notecards & Envelopes – $8.75 CAD value.
  • ‘A Little More, Please’ – Very Vanilla Medium Envelopes + Share What You Love Embellishment Kit – $24.50 CAD value.
  • ‘Gotta Have It All’ – Very Vanilla Medium Envelopes, Share What You Love Embellishment Kit + Statement Of My Heart Single Stamp (will not be available to purchase separately) – $39.50 CAD value.

Starting tomorrow you’ll only be able to buy the items in the Share What You Love suite individually, and the Statement Of My Heart Stamp (included in the ‘Gotta Have it All’ bundle) is retired and no longer available.

Well that’s all from me for today, and it’s also the last of my sneak peeks from the Stampin’ Up 2018/2019 Annual Catalogue.  Starting tomorrow, from 3 pm Atlantic Time, you’ll be able to order anything you want as the new catalogue finally goes live to customers.  Woo hoo!

Such a pretty little box. I am SO happy that you are now on YouTube (worth the wait!) and as you say, this DSP is just gorgeous too! Your directions are always so easy to follow; appreciate that very much … the diagram helps too. Thanks so much, Tracy! We share our love for York peppermint patties too! lol

Thank you Barbara. York Peppermint Patties don’t last long in this house and I can’t blame hubby as I hide them from him.
