I’ve made it to Wednesday, and even though I still have a long to-do list I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. It’s bright and sunny out as well which makes me feel I can tackle anything. There’s only two more days until the July to December Mini Catalogue goes live and today’s sneak peek is a new stamp set called Very Best Occasions. It’s a sentiment-only set with clean and elegant fonts, so with two other new products I couldn’t resist creating this card.

LIGHTS AGLOW AGAIN
For my very first sneak peek I showed you a project using a small piece from the new Lights Aglow 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. I did say I’d be showing you more of this pack and to be honest it was the first thing I reached for today. This time I chose a gold foiled design on a Very Vanilla base. I think it’s a gorgeous colour combination that’s perfect for special projects.
I began by cutting a 2-1/4″ x 6″ piece of the DSP and fixed it to the flap of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow). Then I trimmed off the excess paper with Paper Snips using the edge of the flap as a guide.
For my card base I chose Thick Very Vanilla Card. Using my Paper Trimmer I cut and scored the card, then folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
Next I cut a 3/4″ x 5-1/4″ strip of the DSP along with a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla Card. Using liquid glue I attached the strip down the right-hand edge of the card before fixing it inside the card base.
Finally I cut a 3″ x 4-1/4″ piece of the DSP and a 3-1/8″ x 4-3/8″ piece of Gold Foil Sheet. After mounting the DSP onto the foil with liquid glue, I added the assembled layers to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
SO MANY OCCASIONS
All I needed now was a sentiment and for that I turned the new Very Best Occasions Stamp Set. From the 12 sentiments I chose “Sending you smiles for every moment of your special day”. I love this one because it can be used for so many different occasions.

First, using VersaMark ink I stamped the sentiment onto some Thick Very Vanilla Card. Then I sprinkled the sticky ink with gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder from the Metallics set. After tapping off the excess powder, I removed a few stray specks then melted the rest using my Heat Tool set on 2 (high).
To cut out my sentiment I did consider using a die, but instead opted for the Regular Postage Stamp Punch. In fact, after punching out the sentiment I punched out two more blank pieces of Thick Very Vanilla Card. Then using liquid glue I mounted the three punched pieces on top of each other. With that done I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the stacked sentiment onto the DSP layer.
Finally I cut 8″ of the new 3/8″ Satin Edged Ribbon showcased in an earlier sneak peek. I tied it in a simple bow and then cut a V in the tails. Once I’d added the bow to the card front with a little Tear & Tape Adhesive my project was complete.
I absolutely love this card. The gold and vanilla colour scheme is such an elegant combination, and this DSP and ribbon really shows that off don’t you think?
So now there’s just time for me to show you the entire Very Best Occasions Stamp Set. FYI you’ll also be able to buy these stamps as part of a bundle with a new Trio Punch. More about that in my blog post tomorrow!

PRODUCT LISTS
BUNDLE BONUS – I bought the Very Best Occasions Stamp Set in a bundle with the Very Best Trio Punch (not used today). Buying these two items using the single ‘bundle’ item number meant I saved 10% off the cost of buying the same two items separately. I’ve included a link to the bundle in case you want to explore that option.
This card is beautiful Tracy. So elegant!
Thank you Kylie
