Today, I’m expecting my parcels of new products from the 2019/2020 Annual Catalogue. I’m holding a 4 hour event for Demonstrators on Sunday and really need to start preparing my 8 projects, so I’m hoping the packages arrive promptly. Once they do, I’m going to lock myself in my studio and play. In the meantime I’m continuing to work my way through retiring products. Today it’s the turn of the Very Vintage (Host) Stamp Set with lots of Powder Pink.

SIMPLE STAMPING
This project really is all about #simplestamping.
I began with a layer of retiring Powder Pink Card and randomly stamped the doily image over it using retiring Powder Pink ink. Then using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I attached it to a layer of Very Vanilla Card.
Next I created my card base using my retiring Stampin’ Trimmer to cut and score some Thick Very Vanilla Card. I folded the card along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder. Then I attached the layered background to the card base with more liquid glue.
On another layer of Very Vanilla Card I used Powder Pink ink to stamp the long floral border up the left side. It was a little short but lining it up to stamp a second time and extend it was really easy. Once this was done I added the layer to the inside of the card with liquid glue.
Using the same floral border image I stamped it up the left side on the front of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope.
Finally I stamped the border one last line on a strip of Very Vanilla Card.
The only remaining stamping was the ‘You’re a blessing’ sentiment that I stamped onto a small piece of Very Vanilla Card.
SIMPLE ASSEMBLY
Keeping everything really simple I began to assemble my card.

I wrapped a layer of Very Vanilla Card with a piece of retiring Powder Pink 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon and secured it on the back with Tear & Tape Adhesive. Next, in the top right corner, I added a line of three pink pearls from the retiring Share What You Love Artisan Pearls. Then I fixed the layer to the stamped background with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Using Stampin’ Dimensionals at each end, I next added the stamped border strip across the left side of the ribbon-wrapped panel.
Finally I mounted the sentiment onto Powder Pink Card using liquid glue. Then completed the project by adding it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
#simplestamping is about making projects without lots of expensive tools or complicated techniques. This fits the bill perfectly. There are layers, but they’ve been created will basic straight-line cuts which could quite easily have been done with scissors. Even the ribbon isn’t complicated, if you struggle with tying a bow, wrap the ribbon instead.
VERY VINTAGE STAMP SET
The Very Vintage Stamp Set is a ‘Host’ set which can only be ‘purchased’ using Stampin’ Rewards earned by a workshop host, or by placing a large order. Like all host stamp sets, this one is retiring and stocks are only guaranteed until May 24th.
I’m sad to say that I haven’t used this set nearly enough, but it could well be one that I keep for my own personal use.
Here’s a couple of previous blog posts where I’ve used this set on a project.
