Last week Stampin’ Up! set Demonstrators another #simplestamping challenge. We could make a project for any occasion, but it had to feature a new stamp set and use only stamps, ink and paper. That sounded like the perfect Simple Sunday project to me. So I pulled out the Floral Essence Stamp Set and the wild rose images.

WILD ROSES
I began with the large solid rose image inking it up with Lovely Lipstick ink. The colour was a little too dark so I first stamped-off onto scrap paper before stamping it onto some Whisper White Card.
Next I stamped the centre of my wild rose using Daffodil Delight ink. Then I added three small leaves with Granny Apple Green ink.
Finally I stamped the sentiment from the Floral Essence Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black ink.
Then I changed to the smaller solid wild rose image and, using Lovely Lipstick ink that I’d first stamped-off, stamped it in the bottom left corner of another layer of Whisper White Card. I followed this by stamping the flower centre in Daffodil Delight and leaves in Granny Apple Green. This completed layer would line the inside of the finished card.
One last piece of stamping was required, and that was on the front of the Whisper White Medium Envelope. For this I decided to stamp the smaller rose, centre and leaves to match the inside of the card.
SIMPLE LAYERS

To keep everything very clean, I made a card base using Thick Whisper White Card. Then I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to fix the lining layer inside.
Next I trimmed down the piece with the large wild rose and sentiment, and then attached to a layer of Lovely Lipstick Card with liquid glue.
Finally I added the layered piece to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and my project was complete.
One #simplestamping challenge met.
I really like how this turned out. The pretty wild rose image is definitely the star of the show. The white background and the brightly coloured mat behind the image really draw the eye in. It just goes to show you don’t need lots of expensive tools or difficult techniques to create eye-catching cards.
PRODUCT LIST
BUNDLE BONUS – I actually bought the Floral Essence Stamp Set as part of a bundle with the coordinating Perennial Flower Punch. I didn’t use the punch on today’s project, but buying coordinating items using the ‘bundle’ item number will save you 10% off the cost of buying the two items separately. So for this reason you’ll see I’ve included a link to the bundle in my product list just in case you want to look at this further.
