My regular readers will know I love a good pun, or a bad one come to that. So it should come as no surprise that the Way To Goat Stamp Set made it into my first order from the new Stampin’ Up! Catalogue. With three goat images and associated sentiments I knew I’d have a blast playing with this set. So here’s my first idea, a gift box for anything other than cake.

MINI PAPER PUMPKIN BOX
Making the box itself was so easy, it’s a Mini Paper Pumpkin Box that comes ready cut and scored. All I had to do was fold along the scored lines and tuck over the side flaps. Once full, simply close the lid and slide the end tabs into the sides.
The box is 5-7/8″ x 3-3/4″ x 1″ and made of quite heavy card so it’s really sturdy It’s white too which is perfect for decorating however you wish.
Today I decided to keep it simple. First I cut a piece of Shaded Spruce Card 3-5/8″ x 5-3/8″. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I attached the card to the top of the box. Then I found the bold hand-painted stripe pattern in the forever Greenery 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. I cut the DSP to 3-1/2″ x 5-1/4″ and glued that onto the Shaded Spruce layer.
Next came the gorgeous Gray Granite 1/4″ Shimmer Ribbon. I wrapped it twice around the middle of the box. With the cut ends on the top I fixed the ribbon in place using Mini Glue Dots. While I had the ribbon there I also tied a separate simple bow and set it aside for later.
Now I was ready for the Way To Goat Stamp Set.
WAY TO GOAT
I began by cutting a piece of Thick Whisper White Card using the #C4 die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies. To help me keep track of which dies I use in this set I’ve divided them into three groups A, B and C. C4 is in the group of 8 nesting dies in the set, and the 4th one counting from the smallest up.
With the piece cut I could now see exactly where to stamp my images using Tuxedo Black ink.
First I stamped the open-eyed goat, then I added the two parts of the sentiment. I also stamped the head of the goat onto a second scrap of Thick Whisper White Card.

Using my Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers I coloured in the goat on the main piece plus just the head on the scrap card. Keeping it simple I used the light and dark Smoky Slate combo with the Ivory for his eyelids.
Using Paper Snips I cut out the head from the scrap piece and fixed it onto the image on my main piece with liquid glue. This created just a hint of dimension. Then I fixed the completed layer to the box with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finally I added the bow with a Mini Glue Dot and my non-cake box was complete.
I love how this box turned out. I looked for a green background because I thought of goats in a field. In the end I’m so glad I went with the bold green stripes. It may not be a large gift box, but it certainly has a wow factor, don’t you think?
