Today’s project is one I designed a little while ago as part of an article for Inspiration Canada. This is a newsletter that’s e-mailed to all Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators in Canada every month. Designing this project using the new Quite Curvy Stamp Set was fun, but created an unusual problem. By the time I’d finished working on the card and the article I was convinced that the word “million” was spelled wrong! I’ve checked the dictionary and it’s fine, so with that reassurance I am happy to bring it to you for this week’s simple Sunday project.

ONE IN A MILLION
I began this quick project using my Paper Trimmer to cut and score some Thick Whisper White Card. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder. Finally I cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Whisper White Card and I was ready to begin stamping.
Keeping it simple I chose one colour of ink for my stamping, Shaded Spruce, and the long leafy image from the Quite Curvy Stamp Set.

First I stamped the image onto my card base, towards the bottom. Then I stamped it along the top of the Whisper White layer. Finally I stamped the leaves onto the flap of a Whisper White Envelope. To add a little extra interest I then quickly ‘coloured’ inside the leaves on all three images using a Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush. This pulled a little of the ink from the veins adding a tinge of green with a subtle shimmer.
Then I turned to the “you’re one in a million” sentiment and stamped this above the leaves on the front of the card base.
With that done I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to fix the Whisper White layer inside the card and my project was complete.
BETTER THAN FREE SHIPPING!
Head’s up! On Tuesday (November 24th) Stampin’ Up! will be having a one day sale. On that day all but 72 items from the 2020/2021 Annual Catalogue will be available at 10% off. The beauty of this promotion is that with the product price being reduced it means that you’ll pay less shipping than usual, and less tax too. So if you do the maths you’re better off than if they’d simply offered free shipping.
Some of the excluded items include the Cut & Emboss Machine, and marker sets, plus Whisper White and Very Vanilla Card and Envelopes. But what is included are the bundles in the catalogue which are already discounted by 10%, and will be discounted again! So if your wish list includes items from the Annual Catalogue, place your online order on Tuesday and get more for less.

The Quite Curvy Stamp Set will be available in the Stampin’ Up! January to June 2021 Mini Catalogue.
