It’s that time again when I share a ‘Simple Sunday’ project. I’ve been doing this for many years and enjoy the opportunity to show how you can create pretty papercraft projects without needing complicated techniques or specialist tools. Today’s post however is a little later than usual as I’ve linked up with other members of the Crafty Collaborations team for their September Share It Sunday blog hop. My contribution is a simple “thinking of you” card using the Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set.

COORDINATING COLOURS
I began my card by choosig a pretty floral pattern from the Countryside Inn 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. I decided that this would be another of my 6×6 designs where I’d decorate the front and inside of the card, as well as the envelope, using just a 6″ x 6″ piece of paper. Then having cut the 6″ x 6″ piece of DSP I looked at the colour information on the back of the pack and chose the cardstock, twine, embellishments and ink to match.

I began by using my Paper Trimmer to cut a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Boho Blue Card for my A2 card base. With the long side at the top I scored the card at 4-1/4″. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
Now I was ready to cut up my 6″ x 6″ piece of DSP, and started by cutting off a 2-1/4″ x 6″ strip. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I attached the DSP to the flap of a Basic White Medium Envelope. Then I trimmed off the excess paper with my Paper Snips, using the edge of the flap as a guide.
Next I cut a 3″ x 5-1/2″ piece of DSP along with a 3-1/8″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Night of Navy Card. Using liquid glue I mounted the DSP onto the card layer up against one of the long edges. With that done I glued the layers onto the front of my card base so the edge of the floral layer was against the fold.
Going back to what was left of the DSP I trimmed the remaining 3/4″ strip to 5-1/4″ long. I then cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White Card and glued the DSP down the right-hand edge. This would provide a place to handwrite a message, and so I glued the layers inside the card base, leaving an even border on all sides.
WONDERFUL THOUGHTS
Turning to the Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set I selected “Thinking of you”. I love the simple but elegant font and wanted to focus on that. So I cut a 1″ x 2-1/4″ piece of Basic White Card and chose Night of Navy ink. The see-through photopolymer stamp made it really easy to stamp the sentiment in the centre. Then I cut a 1-1/4″ x 2-1/2″ piece of Night of Navy Card and glued the sentiment on top.

Before adding the sentiment to the card front I decided to add a little more interest. So from the 2023-2025 In Color Jute Trim pack I cut 12″ of the Boho Blue twine. This came off the spool really curly and I decided to take advantage of that. So I laid the loops on the card front and held them in place with a little Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Next I added a column of three Boho Blue embellishments from the 2023-2024 In Color Dots in the bottom right corner of the card base. I liked the way the three different-sized circles takes the eye up towards the top of the card.
From there all I had to do was add my layered sentiment over the twine loops using Stampin’ Dimensionals. In next to no time my simple “thinking of you” card was complete. I hope you’ll give it a try.
