I’m slowly working my way through my new stamp sets and having so much fun. When I first saw the Wonderful Romance Stamp Set I knew it was destined to be mine. The simple line art images are just begging to be coloured and I will certainly do that. In fact I’ve already seen lots of beautifully coloured samples on Pinterest.
For my first project I thought I’d avoid the colours and keep it quite simple. So I chose two colours of card and one colour of ink. The result was a quiet, thinking of you card with a sepia feel.

WONDERFUL ROMANCE
I began with a layer of Very Vanilla Card and a Soft Suede ink pad and in the centre of the piece I simply stamped the large floral image.
Next I placed the piece inside the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Then I placed it directly onto the multipurpose platform, put a cutting pad on top and ran it forwards and backwards through the Big Shot. My simple stamped layer now had a subtle texture, almost like canvas.
On another layer of Very Vanilla Card I stamped the larger of the two leafy images across the top left and bottom right corners. Then I repeated the same stamping on the front of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope.
Finally I stamped the ‘thinking of you’ sentiment onto a scrap of Very Vanilla Card.
SIMPLE ASSEMBLY
Keeping with my simple colour scheme I cut and scored some Soft Suede Card using my Stampin’ Trimmer. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create my card base.
Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I fixed the leafy stamped layer to the inside of the card base.

Next I used a 1-3/4″ punch to punch out a piece of Soft Suede Card. Then I fixed the punched piece to the bottom right corner of the embossed layer with liquid glue.
I wrapped a length of the copper/vanilla 1/8″ Tea Room Ribbon around the layer, and secured it on the back with a little Tear & Tape Adhesive. The sentiment was needed next and I punched that out using the 1-1/2″ Circle Punch. Then I fixed the sentiment to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Now that the layer was assembled all I needed was to fix it to the front of the card base with liquid glue. In no time at all my Wonderful Romance project was complete.
I’m really happy with how this project turned out. The simple layout and muted colours are perfect for a thinking of you card. It just goes to show that while an image may be designed to be coloured, that doesn’t mean it has to be. What do you think?
CHALLENGE ENTRY
My project today used a new item, the Wonderful Romance Stamp Set. So I’ve decided to enter it into this week’s Just Add Ink Challenge #440.

BUNDLE BONUS
There is a set of Framelits Dies that coordinates with the Wonderful Romance Stamp Set I used today. Although I didn’t use these dies you’ll see that I’ve included a link to the Wonderful Romance Bundle in my product list. This is because when you want both items you’ll save 10% if you order them using the special bundle item number. What’s more when you order the bundle you’ll immediately earn a free level 1 item from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure.
So I still have lots of new products to play with. I wonder what I’ll make next?
