Today I heard that a good friend of my daughter has been successful with a recent job application. It’s a really exciting time and I couldn’t be more pleased for her. How fitting then, that I was in the middle of making this card when I heard. ‘You soar above the rest. Congratulations’ says it all really.

SIMPLE CARD BASE
Creating the card base was really simple. I took one of the larger cards from the Happiness Blooms Memories & More Cards & Envelopes pack and folded it in half. Then I sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
Next I used Tear & Tape Adhesive to attach some Night of Navy 1/2″ Gingham Ribbon down the front of the card.
Then on a layer of Whisper White Card I used Night of Navy ink to stamp the small balloon from the Lift Me Up Stamp Set. First I stamped the image in the top right corner with the top of the balloon just off the card.
Then I reinked the stamp and stamped off onto some scrap paper, before stamping on the card again slightly higher and to the left of the first balloon. With that done I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to fix the layer inside the card base.
Finally, using the same process, I stamped the small balloon image twice in the top left corner on the front of the large envelope.
TIP – Whenever you stamp an image slightly off a project, always re-ink it again before stamping a second time. This will prevent your second image having a hard line across it. If like me you want your second image to be lighter, simply stamp off onto scrap paper after re-inking the image.
YOU SOAR ABOVE THE REST
All I needed to do now was create the layers for the focal point on the card.

I began by stamping the large balloon image onto some Whisper White Card using Night of Navy ink. Then I added the ‘You soar above the rest. Congratulations!’ sentiment below it.
Next I cut a piece of Balmy Blue Card and fixed the stamped piece to it with liquid glue. These layers were then attached to a layer of Silver Glimmer Paper with Mini Glue Dots.
Finally I finished my project by attaching the assembled layers to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
This was a simple card to make but classic blue and white with a touch of silver makes it anything but boring. What do you think?
