If you’ve been following my blog for a while you’ll know I’m a frugal crafter. More recently I’ve been forced to be frugal with my time too. So when I finally get into my craft room I really want to make the best use of the opportunity. Most commonly this manifests as a card project followed by a coordinating gift tag. That’s because a lot of my design decisions have already been tested out, plus all the card, paper, stamps, ink and tools are already right there on my desk.

I built this tag design around a 1-1/4″ x 3-3/4″ piece of leafy patterned paper (from the Moonlit Flora 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack) left over from my original card project. So I started by cutting a 2″ x 3-7/8″ piece of Real Red Card and glued the DSP on top leaving a narrow even border at the top, bottom and left-hand side. Then I marked the centre of the tag base 3/8″ down from the top edge and punched a 1/8″ hole. Finally I threaded 6″ of white Baker’s Twine through the hole and tied it in a simple knot.

Next I cut a 1-3/8″ x 2-1/2″ piece of Basic White Card. Then using Mossy Meadow ink I stamped “I love you all the time” from the You’re The Best Stamp Set. After that I cut a 1-1/2″ x 2-5/8″ piece of Real Red Card and glued the sentiment on top. Finally I glued the layered sentiment onto the tag base 1/4″ from the bottom and 1/8″ from the right-hand side.

To finish I cut a 1-7/8″ x 3-1/4″ piece of Basic White Card and glued that onto the back of the tag leaving an even border at the bottom and sides. Less than 10 minutes after completing the card I had a coordinating gift tag to go with it!
