Doubly useful

May 20, 2018 Leave a Comment

Yuk, yuk, yuk.  This morning as the sun rose (well I presume it did, because I couldn’t see it), it was grey and very wet, and someone had stolen the view.  Normally I can look out over the Cobequid Bay to the shore on the other side, work out whether the tide is on its way in or out depending on the colour of the water, and watch the clouds roll by.  Today, nothing.  I could see as far as the trees at the end of the property and after that it was all a solid mass of dreary grey.  It looks like it could be a day to stay in.

The simple Sunday sneak peek project I have for you today has at least two uses.  One, probably the most obvious, is as a nail file in a holder.  The other is to smooth off any rough edges on pieces of card, or to rough them up even more, depending on the look I’m going for.  Either way it will give me something to do while I wait for better weather to return.

It was a conscious decision to keep the decoration on the holder to a minimum.   After all that DSP is gorgeous, but also, as it’s going in a handbag or my travelling craft case, any extra decoration is likely to be damaged.

Emery board holder created using Share What You Love Specialty DSP and Make A Difference Stamp Set from Stampin' Up!

For the large emery board shown in the video my pieces were cut as follows:

Blackberry Bliss Card (available June 1st) – 1-1/4″ x 6-1/2″ (for the base)

Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) – 2-1/4″ x 6-1/4″ (scored on the short side at 1″ and 2″, and on the long side at 6″).

The sentiment comes from the new Make a Difference Stamp Set.

Other new products used were Nature’s Twine (Grapefruit Grove), Blackberry Bliss ink pad and Detailed Trio Punch which will all be available from June 1st.

LIMITED TIME BUNDLE OFFER

Share What You Love - exclusive early release bundles of Stampin' Up! products available in Canada until May 31, 2018.

Right now Stampin’ Up! is offering three difference bundles of items from the Share What You Love suite of products that will feature in the 2018/2019 Annual Catalogue.  This is the only way you can get these items before the catalogue goes live on June 1st, and after May 31st you’ll only be able to order the products as individual items (with the exception of the Statement Of My Heart single stamp which is retiring on May 31st).  So if you want the bundles complete with extra free items, or the Statement of My Heart Stamp you need to ensure you place your order by May 31st.

Here’s a link to the Share What You Love promotional flyer so you can see what’s included in each of the three bundles, but if you live in Canada make sure you use the links below to place your order so that I can send you some additional free goodies as a thank you for choosing me as your Demonstrator.

If you simply can’t wait until June 1st to get the other new items, you could join Stampin’ Up! today and simply include them in your starter kit (choose $165 CAD of products from the current catalogues and the Demonstrator pre-order list, and pay just $135 CAD with no additional shipping and taxes).  Complete the online Independent Demonstrator Agreement or contact me if you’d like more information.
