One of the guarantees with every new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue is that one set of InColors will be retiring and a new set launching. That’s not completely accurate this year as with the colour refresh Fresh Freesia (one of the 2021-2023 InColors) is staying as a core colour in the Subtles family. I’ve particularly enjoyed the retiring InColors so was quite nervous about what would be replacing them, but I needn’t have worried. The 2023-2025 set is gorgeous and I couldn’t wait to get them all and start to play.

EARTHY INCOLORS
To me the five new colours are best described as ‘earth tones’ with grey or brown undertones giving them a warm feel. Right now I can’t decide which of the five is my favourite so I decided to make this project as a sampler.
I began by cutting a 2″ x 5-1/2″ strip of Thick Very Vanilla Card. Then from the Something Fancy Dies I took the small teardrop and used it to die-cut a hole in the centre at the top end.
Next I chose the smaller of the two ‘oval’ dies and used it to cut a 1-1/2″ x 2″ piece of each of the five colours of cardstock. With that done I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to attach each piece at an angle on the Very Vanilla strip leaving a little space between each one. Then I trimmed off the excess using the edge of the Very Vanilla strip as a guide.
As well as the new colours of card I thought it would be useful to include a sample of the coordinating inks. So from the Days To Remember Stamp set I chose the small solid flower image. Then at the bottom between the Bogo Blue and Pebbled Path pieces I stamped the flower in those two colours. Further up I stamped a single flower using Wild Wheat ink. Finally in the very top corner I stamped the remaining two colours, Copper Clay and Moody Mauve.
With that done I picked up my Blending Brushes and added the same inks around the edges of the bookmark. Now I had example of how the ink looks on its coordinating card, as well as Very Vanilla.
To finish I couldn’t resist cutting a 6″ piece of the new 3/8 Textured Ribbon in Moody Mauve. After threading it through the hole at the top I secured it in place with Mini Glue Dots. Now I have a great resource, with a little space to sample the Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers when I get them.
What do you think of these new colours? Do you have a favourite?
