Retiring products continue to sell out and many more are showing as only limited supply. So today I decided to start a slightly different series where I highlight a retiring product through previous projects. Today I’m starting with the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set which is likely to sell out soon.
First, here’s a fun gift tag featuring the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set and the coordinating Butterfly Duet Punch. For more details of this project see my blog post Fighting butterflies.

Next I have a pretty birthday card. Sadly the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper retired a while ago, however any floral paper would make a good substitute. Instructions for this card can be found in my blog post Bringing Back Butterfly Gala

My next project was one of many using the “just a note” sentiment from the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set. As well as cards, this simple phrase is useful for notebooks and other gifts as this calendar project shows. Details for this project are in my blog post A new year means a new calendar.

BUTTERFLY BACKGROUNDS
While they’re great as the focal point of projects, I think butterfly images can make great backgrounds too. My card from a blog post last week showed how to keep it subtle by using clear embossing powder instead of ink. You’ll find this project in my blog post Tone-on tone embossing technique.

Another fun technique using clear embossing powder is emboss resist. This was how I created this very colourful bookmark for my blog post Back to summer butterflies.

So if you haven’t already got the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set do check it out while you still can. Make sure you look at the coordinating Butterfly Duet Punch which is also retiring. Now the punch has been reduced by 60% I have a feeling it won’t be long before that sells out too!
