Retiring products continue to sell out and many more are showing as only limited supply. So today I decided to start a slightly different series where I highlight a retiring product through previous projects. Today I'm starting with the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set which is likely to sell out soon. First, here's a fun gift tag featuring the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set and the coordinating Butterfly Duet Punch. For more details of this project see my blog post Fighting butterflies. Next I ... VIEW POST
Tone-On-Tone Embossing Technique
Every now and then I'm reminded of an old technique and sometimes a stamp set prompts that memory. This was what happened when I pulled out the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set. I realised that the butterfly images would be perfect for a tone-on-tone background technique using clear embossing powder. Clear Embossing Technique I began this project with one of the dual butterfly images from the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set and a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" layer of Merry Merlot Card. Using VersaMark ink I ... A New Year Means A New Calendar
Happy new year! How's it been for you so far? Us? Well we woke up to minus 4C and a heating system that wasn't working. Fortunately it was only the AA batteries that needed replacing in the programmer and we were able to get it up and running again. It did remind us however to buy a replacement for the other more specialised battery in case that one goes in the future. So before I forgot I wrote myself a note using my new 2021 easel calendar. I did do that, but first I needed a place to write things down. So that's how I ended up with today's project share; a little pine tree notebook. POINSETTIA PLACE The idea for my notebook started with a pattern from the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper (DSP). While obviously there are ... VIEW POST
Back To Summer Butterflies
It's only July 9th, so why did it already feel like autumn this morning? Thankfully the forecast is improving and it should brighten up later. I'm certainly not ready for the cooler weather just yet. I love being outside when the sky is blue and there's a gentle breeze coming in off the water. Once I'm settled on the deck it never takes long for the birds and butterflies to return. It's so relaxing just sitting there watching them come and go. So with the butterflies as my inspiration I ... VIEW POST
Bringing Back Butterfly Gala
It seems ages since I last made something using the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set. I suppose I have been a little distracted by the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue, but that's really no excuse. Today I saw this week's Just Add Ink and Global Design Project challenges and Butterfly Gala immediately flew to mind. So I simply sat down and started to create. OPEN SPACE I wanted the butterfly panel to be the focal point so opted for a very plain background. I began with a card base of Thick ... VIEW POST
