Today we finally have blue skies and sunshine, the first in quite a while it seems. I can’t tell you how nice it is, even if the temperature’s still a little chilly. Many of the birds are back and it’s fun watching them from where I’m working. Sadly there’s still no flowers blooming in the garden, so for those I had to look closer to me. I have so many choices in my craft studio, but today decided on the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper. Then in no time at all I had my simple Sunday project ready to go.

TAG BASE
I began my project with the tag base by cutting a 2″ x 3-3/4″ piece of Very Vanilla Card. Then I turned to the Ornate Garden 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP). While most of the sheets are covered with gorgeous flowers, some have ornate patterns. I chose a Mint Macaron and gold foil design and cut it to the same size as the tag base.
Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I fixed the two pieces together before shaping the top with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. Then I threaded some Mint Macaron twine from the Nature’s Twine Combo Pack through the slot at the top and tied it in a simple knot.
Next I decided to look for a suitable sentiment and found what I needed in the Layered With Kindness Stamp Set. First I stamped the large “happy birthday” image onto Very Vanilla Card using Early Espresso ink. Then with my Paper Snips I cut around the words and discarded the rest.
FUSSY CUT FLOWERS
With everything else prepared all I needed now were the flowers. I chose another sheet from the Ornate Garden DSP and used my Paper Snips to fussy cut a piece from one of the corners. I carefully cut away any part flowers until I had a piece about the height of the tag.

As the DSP is not as thick as card I placed quite few Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the flowers. This way when I added it to the tag the paper wouldn’t collapse. With the flowers in place all I had left to do was add my sentiment with more Stampin’ Dimensionals.
In no time at all and with just a little effort I’d created a bright and cheerful gift tag. Then when I looked up there were five white-tailed deer in the garden. It seems I’m not the only one enjoying the sunshine today
