It appears that the internet is cutting in and out, so I’ll make my blog post a quick one. A few days ago I showed you a masculine / gender neutral card and said that it had started life as a bookmark idea. Finally today I got around to designing a leafy bookmark, this time using the new Forever Fern Stamp Set.

DISTINKTIVE® FOLIAGE
I began this project with a 2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Thick Very Vanilla Card. Then using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch I shaped one end to create my basic bookmark base.
Next from the Forever Fern Stamp Set I chose the image with long slender leaves. Using Old Olive ink I stamped the branch in opposite directions at each end of the bookmark. All the shading you see is created by the stamp itself owing to the Distinktive manufacturing process.
Next I chose the “you can do this” sentiment and stamped it in the space between the branches using Early Espresso ink.
Finally I used Mint Macaron ink to stamp the spotty image from the set in the empty areas of the bookmark.
All that was left was to thread some Old Olive 1/4″ ribbon from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack through the slot at the top. Then once I’d tied it in a simple knot my quick project was done.
FOREVER FERN
I must admit that I’m not really sure why this stamp set is called Forever Fern as none of the images seem very fern-like. However I do love the variety of leafy images that that set contains. I feel it will really complement all those flowery stamp sets I have. It was only after I’d decided to get the set that I realised it had four gorgeous sentiments too!

What’s even better is that all six leaf images can be cut out using the coordinating Forever Flourishing Dies. I showed you a sneak peek of these in my blog post Forever Flourishing makes its debut.
The Forever Fern Stamp Set and Forever Flourishing Dies are available to purchase separately or in a bundle. If you order using the ‘bundle’ item number you’ll save 10% off the cost of buying the two items separately. I’ve included a link to the bundle in case you want to explore this option.
