Of all the cards that I sell, my thank you and birthday cards are probably the most popular. This means they’re also the ones I design most often. As well as the standard “thank you” or “Thanks” I also like sentiments that have a little more detail. It’s for this reason that I love “The little things you do make such a big difference’ from the Pansy Patch Stamp Set. It’s the ideal sentiment when you want to send a general thank you, rather than for something specific. For the main thank you part I wanted the new Thanks & Hello Embossing Folders which turn a simple card into a very special one.

THANKS & HELLO
My project actually began with the “Thanks” embossing folder. This (and the Hello Embossing Folder in the set) is designed to fit through the Mini Cut & Emboss Machine. After cutting a 3-3/8″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Fresh Freesia Card I placed it inside the embossing folder and ran it through my machine. Even without any special techniques the results are stunning as you can clearly see in the photograph.
With the embossing done I then used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to attach the piece to a 3-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ layer of Basic White Card. Next I wrapped some Highland Heather 1/2″ Grosgrain Ribbon around the layers just below that large embossed “Thanks”. Then I secured the ribbon on the back with Tear & Tape Adhesive.
For my card base I chose Basic Gray Card that I cut and scored using my Paper Trimmer. Then I folded the card along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder. Finally I mounted the assembled layers onto the front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and set it aside.

For the inside of the card started by cutting a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White Card as well as a 7/8″ x 5-1/4″ piece. On the larger layer I simply stamped “Thank you” from the Pansy Patch Stamp Set in the middle using Tuxedo Black ink. Then I embossed the small strip focusing on the large “thanks” and glued that to the bottom of the layer. Finally I glued the assembled pieces inside the card base.
For the Basic White Medium Envelope I kept things simple and stamped the “thank you” in the middle of the envelope flap.
LITTLE THINGS
Now all I needed was the longer sentiment from the Pansy Patch Stamp Set. First using Tuxedo Black ink I stamped it onto some Thick Basic White Card. Then I went looking for a punch or die to cut it out. Working with what I had to immediately hand was a challenge, but it wasn’t insurmountable.
In fact I eventually found the perfect circle die in the last place I looked, the Encircled In Beauty Dies. I discovered that one of the dies in this set (that I bought to create doily-style layers) has a dual purpose. It not only cuts a fancy edge but it also cuts a circle from the centre. So all I had to do was run it through my machine with the sentiment visible through the hole in the middle of the die.

To complete the project I attached the die-cut sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I finished off by adding three diamond-shaped embellishments from the Silver & Clear Epoxy Essentials pack. With that my card was done.
I really love how this turned out. The layout is very simple but that embossed layer really adds a wow factor don’t you think?
