As well as producing wonderful stamp sets, dies and punches, Stampin’ Up! offers some great packaging ideas. In the new January to June Mini Catalogue is the Love You Always Treat Box. It’s easy to miss this in the catalogue so today I decided to show it to you. To decorate the plain white box I chose a sentiment and stamped images from the Lovely You Stamp Set.

LOVELY YOU SLEEVE
The box is a drawer-style and comes in two parts, the drawer and the sleeve. I began by decorating the sleeve on all four sides.
I chose a flower and three leafy images from the Lovely You Stamp Set and allocated each image to an ink colour. The inspiration for the colour scheme came in part from page 3 of the Sale-A-Bration Brochure. In the end I settled on Night of Navy, Soft Sea Foam, Pool Party and Petal Pink.
As I started stamping I realised that there’s a slight coating on the outside of the sleeve. This was making the ink dry more slowly than usual. So after stamping one side of the flattened sleeve I dried the ink using my Heat Tool set on 1 (low). Then I stamped the other side, dried those images too and set the sleeve aside.
FOOD-SAFE DRAWER
With the sleeve done it was time to work on the drawer part of the treat box. I’ve made a lot of different boxes over the years and thought I’d have no trouble putting this one together. However it’s designed to be quite sturdy and assembled without any adhesives. I have to admit that it took me a minute or two to work out how to assemble it. So for that reason I’ve created a quick visual guide:

The top left photo shows the drawer section and the flattened sleeve. In step 1 you can see the drawer part folded along all the pre-scored lines. Next I folded over the shorter sides, followed by the front. Finally the back folds over, and the large section covers the bottom of the box with a tab that fits under the front piece. It’s an ingenious design and the result is a drawer that is double thick on all four sides and the bottom.
The finished size of the box is 4-1/16″ x 2-11/16″ x 1-1/2″ and I’m amazed at how sturdy it is. All I had to do then was slide the drawer into the decorated sleeve and it was ready to fill.
JUST BECAUSE
To finish off my box I cut a piece of 3/8″ Denim Ribbon, wrapped it around the box and secured it on the top with a Mini Glue Dot. Then from another piece of ribbon I tied a bow and attached that to hide the join.

For my sentiment I went back to the Lovely You Stamp Set and chose “Just because”. First, using Night of Navy ink I stamped the sentiment into a 1″ strip of Petal Pink Card. Then I shaped the ends of the strip using the Lovely Label Pick-A-Punch.
Next, to add some contrast I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to mount the sentiment onto a piece of Night of Navy Card. Then I tucked the sentiment under the bow and secured it with another Mini Glue Dot. With that my box was complete.
PRODUCT LIST
BUNDLE BONUS – I bought the Lovely You Stamp Set in a bundle with the Lovely Label Pick-A-Punch. This meant I saved 10% off the cost of buying the two items separately. I’ve included both options below so you can compare these if you wish.
