So once again my original plan for a project changed as I was making it. When I sat down with the Hydrangea Hill 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack I knew exactly what I wanted. I wanted three different designs that I could use to create multiple layers on my card front. As you can see I didn’t even come close.

FUSSY CUT HYDRANGEA
My project began with a sheet that was basically completely a Seaside Spray background covered with small white flowers. On the reverse were some small sprays of hydrangeas and leaves, each one separated on a white background. I simply couldn’t resist grabbing my Paper Snips to cut one of them out leaving a small amount of white around it.
Then I decided that this pattern could be the coordinating feature for the project. So I fixed a 2-1/4″ x 6″ piece to the flap of a Whisper White Medium Envelope with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow). Then I trimmed off the excess using the edge of the flap as a guide.
Finally I fussy cut another of the floral images and glued that in the corner of a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Whisper White Card. Then using my Paper Snips once more I trimmed the DSP in line with the edge of the card.
By this point I had decided to use Seaside Spray Card for my card base. Using my Paper Trimmer I cut and scored the card, then folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder. Then with liquid glue I fixed the Whisper White layer on the inside.

BETTER WORLD
Next I began thinking about the sentiment for my card and pulled out the Hydrangea Haven Stamp Set. As well as lots of flower and leaf images there are some lovely sentiments.
I chose “The world is better because of you” and stamped it onto some Whisper White Card using Misty Moonlight ink. Above the sentiment I then glued the first hydrangea image I’d fussy-cut.
After mounting the sentiment piece onto a layer of Seaside Spray Card I cut some Seaside Spray 1/4″ Metallic Ribbon. I wrapped the ribbon around the sentiment and secured it on the back using Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Still with my original plan in my head I began looking at the other sheets of Hydrangea Hill DSP. But the more I looked, the more I realised that I’d changed my mind.

So I put Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of my assembled sentiment before fixing it directly onto the front of my card base. That was all I needed, my original plan had changed and I loved the result. What do you think?
