Finally it’s January 3rd and that means customers can now buy new products from the 2019 Occasions Catalogue. What’s even better is today is also the start of Stampin’ Up!’s annual Sale-A-Bration promotion. This is where you can choose exclusive items for free simply for placing a qualifying order. One of the free items you could choose is the So Hoppy Together Stamp Set. My first project using this cute set is a bookmark, although with these new catalogues you might need more than one.

SPONGED BACKGROUND
I started with a piece of Thick Very Vanilla Card 2″ x 5-1/2″ for my bookmark base. Then I shaped the top with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, and the bottom using the corner rounder option on the Detailed Trio Punch.
Next using some Stampin’ Sponge I very lightly added a little Balmy Blue ink over most of the layer. Then came a little Lemon Lime Twist on the sides towards the bottom.
Finally I tore a piece of scrap paper and used the edge to mask off all but the bottom inch or so of the bookmark. Then I sponged on some Gray Granite ink for the ground.
SO HOPPY TOGETHER
Next came the frog on a unicycle from the So Hoppy Together Stamp Set stamped onto the bookmark using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
I wanted the frog to be much bolder than the background and decided to colour him with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers.
For the belly of the frog I used the light and dark Soft Sea Foam. For the rest of the frog I went with light and dark Granny Apple Green. Finally on the unicycle I used light and dark Smoky Slate.

At this point I stamped ‘You can do anything’ from the So Hoppy Stamp Set with Tuxedo Black ink.
CUSTOM RIBBON
With no Granny Apple Green ribbon in my stash I decided to make my own using some Whisper White 3/8″ Classic Weave Ribbon.
All I had to do was use the side of the brush tip of the Stampin’ Blends to colour along the edge of the ribbon. On one edge I used the dark Granny Apple Green and along the other edge the light one. Then I flipped the ribbon over and repeated the process on the other side. Then I had to wait a couple of minutes for it to dry.
Finally I threaded the ribbon through the slot at the top of my bookmark and secured it in place with a Mini Glue Dot on each side.
Oh my goodness how cute is this bookmark and so quick to make too. I think I shall make a whole lot more to send to everyone who places an order with me this month.
SALE-A-BRATION HAS STARTED
There’s three parts to Sale-A-Bration, shop, host and join.
Shop – For every $60 spent before shipping and taxes in a single order you can choose one ‘level 1’ item like the So Hoppy Together Stamp Set. If you spend $120 then two higher value ‘level 2’ items are added to the products you can choose from. There are no limits on the number of items you can earn so if your order is $180 you could choose 3 level 1 products, or a level 1 and a level 2. You can even choose multiples of the same product if you want. The more you spend the more you get.
Host – Did you know you can ‘double dip’ during Sale-A-Bration? That’s right, if you place a qualifying order starting at $200 you earn Stampin’ Rewards (a percentage of your order to spend on anything you like). This benefit applies equally whether you host an at home party, an online party or simply place a larger order just for yourself. What’s more if your order is at least $300 you get an EXTRA $30 to spend on top of the percentage. Can you say ‘triple dip’!

Join – finally, Sale-A-Bration is hands down the best time to join Stampin’ Up! and this year has to be the best ever. Until March 31st you can choose $225 of any products for your starter kit and pay just $135 with no additional shipping and taxes. That’s $60 more product than usual. This year however there’s a second option… Choose your $225 of product and then add in the new limited availability Craft & Carry Tote and pay $175. Whether you want to build a business or simply want the discount, I’d love to be able to welcome you to my team.
