A few days ago I mentioned that all 2019-2021 In Color products will be retiring on May 3rd. On that occasion I created a dog gift tag showcasing my favourite of these five retiring colours, Seaside Spray. So continuing on, today I made a project with Terracotta Tile taking centre stage.

BLOOM & GROW
My project began when I chose the longest floral image from the Bloom & Grow Stamp Set and stamped it onto Whisper White Card with Pear Pizzazz ink. Then I simply coloured in the image using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers.
For the flowers I chose Calypso Coral as I find it really coordinates well with Terracotta Tile. Then for the leaves I used Old Olive, and for the berries, Mango Melody.
Once I’d finished colouring I cut out the image using the coordinating die from the Budding Blooms Dies and my Mini Cut & Emboss Machine.
With the most complicated part of the design done I was ready to create the layers for the pocket photo album.
TERRACOTTA TILE
I removed the boring cover inserts from the back and front pockets and measured them (4-5/8″ x 6-1/8″). Then I cut two pieces of Terracotta Tile Card exactly the same size and immediately slid one piece into the back cover pocket.

Now I wanted two layers for the front cover starting with a 3-3/8″ x 4-7/8″ piece of Crushed Curry Card. Then I cut a 3-1/4″ x 4-3/4″ piece of Whisper White Card for the top layer.
Going back to the Bloom & Grow Stamp Set I chose “let’s celebrate you” and stamped onto the white layer using Terracotta Tile ink.
To add some extra interest I turned to the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo pack. This contains two spools of 1/4″ ribbon, one in Terracotta Tile and one in Old Olive. I cut about 5″ of each and wrapped them around the bottom of the sentiment layer. Then I secured the ribbon on the back using Tear & Tape Adhesive. Now I was ready to finish assembling my mini album cover.
Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I fixed the sentiment layer onto the Crushed Curry layer at an angle. Then I mounted them onto the Terracotta Tile cover piece. Finally I glued the die-cut image across the top of the layers before sliding everything into the front cover pocket of the album. Now all my pocket album needs are some 4″ x 6″ photos to turn it into a very personal gift.
I have a feeling that the Bloom & Grow Stamp Set and coordinating dies may retire on May 3rd. So for more projects using this stamp set see these earlier blog posts:
