While processing the impact of the Stampin’ Up! Retiring List, I look through my catalogues and mark off the items that are going. This year there was one big surprise, and that was the retirement of a set that was not in the Annual or Occasions Catalogue. You see, normally sets that carry over from the Holiday Catalogue all appear in the next Annual Catalogue. This year however there was one notable exception, Wishing You Well. So before it’s gone for good, I really wanted to remind you about this set that you may have previously overlooked.

SIMPLE LAYERS
I wanted to keep this card quite muted so began by cutting and scoring a piece of Smoky Slate Card using my retiring Stampin’ Trimmer. Then I folded the card along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
Next I found some of the leaf design paper from the retiring Floral Romance Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. There was one scrap piece that was the perfect width for what I had in mind, so I just had to cut two more strips 3/4″ wide.
One of the strips was shortened to 4″ and attached down the left side of a layer of Very Vanilla Card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow). Then I fixed this layer inside the card base. The other strip was attached to the left side on the front of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, then trimmed with Paper Snips.
To add some interest to the front of the card I used the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch to punch two scrap strips of Very Vanilla Card. Then with liquid glue I attached these punched strips to the back of the remaining DSP, before adding it to the card front.

That just left the thoughts and prayers sentiment from the Wishing You Well Stamp Set. Using Tuxedo Black ink I stamped it into a 1/2″ strip of Very Vanilla Card, then fixed it to a strip of Smoky Slate Card.
Once I’d added it to the front of the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals, my project was complete.
WISHING YOU WELL
I really like the Wishing You Well Stamp Set. The sentiments look handwritten, but so much neater than my own handwriting. The images are also Distinktive® with the most amazing detail.
You’ll find other projects I’ve created using this stamp set in these earlier blog posts.
PRODUCT LIST
Retiring products used today that are only available while socks last are: Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Stampin’ Trimmer. The Wishing You Well Stamp Set is also retiring, but stocks are being guaranteed up to May 24th.
Must admit I too was surprised that this one didn’t carry over. I mean REALLY surprised! (the sentiments! that bow!) I’m so glad you have featured it in one of your Blogs for the retiring items … your card is lovely. I love the Decorative Ribbon Punch too and for whatever reason found that I wound up using the smaller scalloped edge even more than the more elaborate lacy one. Of course the DSP … sooo pretty and all in all, you have made an elegant card. Thanks Tracy!
Thank you Geraldine. I must admit I haven’t used that punch a whole lot, but both the scalloped edge and the lacy edge are gorgeous. I really should make an effort to use it more in the future.
