I hope you had a lovely Christmas Day yesterday. Ours was very quiet, which was actually quite nice. In yesterday’s very brief blog post I gave you a little sneak peek from the Stampin’ Up! 2019 Occasions Catalogue. I wonder how many of you spotted it. Starting today, with the Amazing Life Stamp Set, I’ll be bringing you sneak peek projects and more information about the new products.

SIMPLE SENTIMENT
This clean and simple card is all about that stunning sentiment from the Amazing Life Stamp Set .
I began with a layer of Whisper White Card placed on my Stamparatus stamp positioning platform. The sentiment was then stamped several times using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. This allowed me to get a really dark crisp image.
I decided keep it simple and use Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers to create an ombre effect.
On each individual letter I started with the dark Highland Heather marker colouring just the top third. Then I went over the dark colour with the light Highland Heather marker and continued about 2/3 of the way down the letter. Finally I went over the whole letter with the light Flirty Flamingo. This gave me my perfectly blended graduated colouring. I then repeated this process for all the other individual letters.
On the banner I drew a narrow line around the top and bottom edges with the dark Highland Heather marker. Then I went over the whole thing with the light Highland Heather.
SIMPLE TEXTURE
I wanted a little extra interest on the main layer, but nothing that was too distracting. The Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder would be perfect for this.
I placed the stamped and coloured layer inside the embossing folder directly on my multipurpose platform. Then I placed a single cutting plate on top and ran it forwards and backwards through the Big Shot. The fine details of the embossing folder added texture without distorting the sentiment, exactly as I’d planned.
Next, using my Stampin’ Trimmer I cut and scored a piece of Thick Whisper White Card. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened it with a Bone Folder to create the card base. Finally I fixed the textured layer to the front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).

FINISHING TOUCHES
Also in the Amazing Life Stamp Set is a sweet little line-art flower image that would finish the project beautifully.
Using Tuxedo Black ink I stamped the flower in the centre of the flap on a Whisper White Medium Envelope. I also stamped it in the centre near the top of a layer of Whisper White Card.
Then using the light Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends marker I coloured in the flowers. Next I added dark Highland Heather to the very centre and the tips of the petals. Finally I coloured the petals using the light Highland Heather to blend the colours.
On the leaves I started with a little dark Granny Apple Green down the centre line and close to the petals. Then coloured over the whole of each leaf with the light Granny Apple Green.
Once I’d fixed the Whisper White layer inside the card base my project was complete.
AMAZING LIFE STAMP SET
This was the very first stamp set from the new Stampin’ Up! 2019 Occasions Catalogue that I saw. It was actually given to me free at the recent OnStage Live event that I attended last month in Orlando, Florida.
I love this set and in fact designed this card and made a number of them while I was still in Florida. I then gave them to other members of the Design Team from the What Will You Stamp? Challenge who were also there.
So that’s it for today, I have lots more ideas for projects using the Amazing Life Stamp Set and will bring them to you in the coming weeks and months. Meanwhile here’s a look at the whole set.

I hope you’ll join me again tomorrow for another sneak peek from the 2019 Occasions Catalogue. Customers will be able to purchase the Amazing Life Stamp Set and other new items once the 2019 Occasions Ccatalogue goes live on January 3rd.
