Yesterday continued as it started, grey and wet, and today looks to be much the same. My poor cat Houdini is not enjoying it at all. He loves sitting on the deck watching the birds, but not when it’s raining. The process was always the same, he’d ask to go out, he’s sit for a while, then he’s ask to come in. Having done so he then stands by ‘his’ towel waiting to be dried off! I’ve never known a cat do that, but at least he’s not jumping on the furniture soaking wet. But then another bird would catch his eye and he’d ask to go out again.
So with birds in mind I decided I’d bring you a sweet thank you gift tag complete with a pretty robin. There’s a few sneak peeks in my project too, we all need something to brighten the day.

NEW COLOUR
For the base of the tag I chose Terracotta Tile, one of the new 2019-2021 InColors. I cut the card to 2″ x 4-1/4″ then cut a piece from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper (DSP) 1-3/4″ x 4″.
Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I mounted the DSP onto the card then punched the top with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. With that done I threaded two loops of Whisper White Baker’s Twine through the slot at the top. Then I passed the cut ends through the loops to secure the twine in place.
THANK YOU
The thank you sentiment comes from the Free As A Bird Stamp Set. Using Terracotta Tile ink I stamped it into a scrap of Whisper White Card then added to the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Next I took another piece of the Bird Ballad DSP and cut out the robin image. This was added to the tag with liquid glue under his feet and Stampin’ Dimensionals for the rest of the bird.
Finally I used a Mini Glue Dot to attach a small bronze bow from the new Bird Ballad Trinkets and I was done.
So sweet and so fast! This tag would also make a great focal point on the front of a card. The DSP has lots of other birds in various poses and colours giving an endless variety of options.
BIRD BALLAD TRINKETS
The Bird Ballad Trinkets are amazing. You get 24 of these little bronze embellishments, six of each type: bow, key, flower and leaf. As you might expect, they coordinate beautifully with the Bird Ballad DSP and the Free As A Bird Stamp Set.
If you recently received the May Paper Pumpkin kit “Hugs from Shelli’ you’ll have found coordinating swallow trinkets in the kit. So although there’s no swallows in the Bird Ballad Trinkets, you’ll have an idea of how pretty these are. I have a feeling I’ll be needing more of them.
So that’s it for today, I hope you’ll join me again tomorrow for another sneak peek from the 2019/2020 Annual Catalogue.
