When I first started papercrafting I didn’t use a whole lot of patterned paper. However over the past several years I’ve begin to use it more and more. Of course Stampin’ Up!’s stunning Designer Series Paper (DSP) has been a big factor in that. The quality of the paper (almost lightweight card) and the amazing patterns and images created by the Stampin’ Up! designers make it a great option. The other thing I love is that the colours used in the designs are listed on the packaging and in the catalogue. This makes it incredibly easy to get the perfect coordination with ink, card and embellishments from the Stampin’ Up! catalogue. So today I wanted to show you a simple card using a design from the Garden Lane DSP Pack.

OH SO SIMPLE
This has to be one of my favourite #simplestamping layouts.
I started with a card base created using Thick Whisper White Card. Then with Pear Pizzazz ink I stamped the ‘thank you’ from the Daisy Delight Stamp Set on the front.
Next I cut a piece from the Garden Lane DSP and fixed it to the front of the card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).

With that done I wrapped some Whisper White Baker’s Twine around the card front and tied it in a simple bow.
To decorate the inside of the card I used liquid glue to add a 1″ strip of the DSP along the bottom edge.

Finally using liquid glue I fixed a piece of the DSP to the flap of a Whisper White Medium Envelope. Once I’d trimmed the DSP with Paper Snips following the edge of the flap my project was complete.
GARDEN LANE DESIGNER SERIES PAPER
I must admit that the Garden Lane DSP wasn’t the first pack I ordered. In fact when Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators were able to pre-order products there were 4 other packs I ordered first. I can’t explain why. However I’m so glad I added the Garden Lane DSP to my second pre-order.
The patterns are gorgeous and great for both masculine and feminine projects. There’s some larger designs like the one I used today, plus lots that are more subtle and perfect for backgrounds.
The colours used in the Garden Lane DSP pack are Garden Green, Mint Macaron, Mossy Meadow, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sea Foam and Whisper White.
Sadly, the lighting in my craft studio is really poor at the moment due to the persistent rain and fog. As soon as it improves I’ll be sure to add a photo of the paper so you can see for yourself.

I love simple cards like this! Is the space where you stamped one inch? Thinking you used that leftover piece for the inside? How do you cut the piece for the envelope?
Thank you Patty. Yes the space at the bottom is 1″ although I might adjust that if the sentiment I decided to use is a little bigger. The piece on the inside is never bigger than 1″ so as not to reduce the area available to write a message. For the envelope flap I cut a piece of DSP about 2-1/2″ x 6″. Then once it’s stuck on the envelope flap I cut the DSP with my Paper Snips using edge of the flap as a guide. I hope this helps.
Thank You!
