Classic Treat Boxes For Any Occasion

September 19, 2021 Leave a Comment

With Thanksgiving fast approaching, and Halloween and Christmas not far behind, it’s time to think of treats and favours. While I’m quite happy to make my own boxes they do take time, so it’s nice to have a simpler alternative. At 1-13/16″ square, the Simply Classic Treat Boxes are a great option. They’re food safe and need no adhesive to assemble. Simply fold in the tabs, fill, and place the brushed gold top over the plain white base. From there you can leave them as they are or add your own decoration. Today it’s all about #simplestamping. It is Sunday after all.

JUST BECAUSE

Decorating the assembled box was really easy, but that didn’t mean it couldn’t have a little wow. I decided to coordinate with a pretty gold foiled pattern from the Blackberry Beauty 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack.

I cut a 1-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ strip of the gold and Rich Razzleberry DSP and simply wrapped it around the lid of the box. As I came to each corner I gently squeezed the DSP to create a soft fold, Then I laid the DSP on the desk and pressed each fold line firmly with my fingers just to make sure they were crisp and clean. Wrapping the DSP around the box lid once again, I overlapped the ends at the centre of one side, and with a little Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) fixed the ends to each other.

Now I was ready for a little stamping, and from the Lovely You Stamp Set I chose “just because”. Then I stamped it onto a scrap of Basic White Card using Rich Razzleberry ink.

Instead of a punch I opted to fussy-cut the sentiment with Paper Snips, leaving a small while border around the words. Then with more liquid glue I attached the sentiment to the front side of the box and I was done.

I love how simple this box was to put together and decorate. All I have to do now is add some treats and I’m ready to show my appreciation to people like the bank teller, server, delivery driver etc.

For a slightly different idea using the Simply Classic Treat Boxes, see my earlier blog post Holly Border Punch for a sweet embellishment.

Well that’s all for today. I have a little list of projects I want to work on between loads of washing. Whatever you have planned I hope you’re able to take a little time for yourself.
