Holly Border Punch For A Sweet Embellishment

August 20, 2021 Leave a Comment

Today’s blog project is super easy and uses a couple of new products from the July to December Mini Catalogue. The gold Simply Classic Treat Box is small but is great for treats and table favours, as well as those special little gifts. It comes in two parts with a white base, and the gold lid slips over the top. The lid has a hanging loop but to use that make sure you stick or tie the two parts of the box together. The box will remind you if you forget. lol. The other new product is that cute little holly embellishment. These small leaves are the ‘left-overs’ from the Holly Border Punch, and well worth keeping.

The box itself was so easy to put together and needs no adhesive. Simply fold in the large white square flap and fold the smaller side flaps on top. Then fold over the longer flap and tuck the tab in the end. Repeat the same process for the other part of the box then slide the gold lid over the white base. Job done.

HOLLY SENTIMENT

For the sentiment I turned to the Poinsettia Petals Stamp Set and Shaded Spruce ink. I stamped “Thank you for making this a wonderful season” onto a 7/8″ x 1/7/8″ piece of Thick Basic White Card. Then I attached the sentiment to the top of the box with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

That just left the holly decoration and I created this from a trip of Shaded Spruce Card using the Holly Border Punch. The cut out border piece I’ll use on another project, along with the berries and stalks. Today though I needed just two of the punched out leaves.

Using a Mini Glue Dot I attached the two leaves onto the sentiment. Then instead of punched berries I opted for something with a little more bling, Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels. I attached a trio of the rhinestones to the leaves and my little treat was complete.

While the holly makes this a Christmas box, that sentiment could relate to any season. I’m thinking ‘tourist season’, ‘harvest season’, ‘ski season’, ‘baseball season’, the list could go on and on. What seasons can you think of? Leave a comment below and I may create a box just for you.

PRODUCT LIST

BUNDLE BONUS – I bought the Holly Border Punch in a bundle with the Happy Holly-Days Stamp Set (not used today). Ordering using the single ‘bundle’ item number meant I saved 10% off the cost of buying the two items separately. I’ve included a link to the bundle in case you want to explore that option.

For a project using the Happy Holly-Days Stamp Set see my earlier blog post Health & happiness with Happy Holly-Days.
