Something I love having in my craft studio are flower dies to make decorations. Different sets of dies and punches come and go, but there’s always something new. As soon as I saw the Dainty Delight Dies I knew I had to get them. While I loved the coordinating stamp set, what stood out for me were the daisy and small leaf dies. These don’t match any stamps however they can be used to decorate, well, anything. So as I’m bringing out my spring décor making this candle collar was a no-brainer.
When decorating my little pillar candles I usually start by wrappng a wide band of patterned paper or ribbon aound it as a base for my design. This year’s spring candle wrap is quite different though.
I began by cutting two of the curved leafy stems from Parakeet Party Card. With the pieces flat on my desk I overlapped the top of one stem with the base of the other and fixed them together with a dot of Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow). Then I wrapped the stems around the candle and glued the ends to each other where they overlapped.
Next I die-cut some full and half daisies from Coastal Cabana Card and the tiny flower centres from retiring Mango Melody Card. After gluing the centres to the flowers I added them to the leafy collar with liquid glue or Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
While I liked the look so far I decided to add a little more interest. So going back to the dies I found the ‘lavender’ flower shape and cut four of these from Basic White Card, and another two from Fresh Freesia Card. On the white ones I then added a touch of Highland Heather ink using a Blending Brush. Once these flowers had been tucked into the collar I was much happier.
Finally to add a pop of colour to the candle stand I cut some Mango Melody Card using the largest scalloped die from the retiring Layering Circles. With that in place my decorated candle was ready to join the rest of my spring decor.
WARNING – This candle collar is for decoration only while the candle is unlit. The collar and card circle must be removed before lighting the candle!

The pillar candle I used was bought several years ago and measures 2-5/8″ across the bottom and stands about 3″ high.
RETIRING PRODUCTS (only available while stocks last)
CONTINUING PRODUCTS (please note some prices will increase when the 2023/2024 Annual Catalogue goes live on May 2nd)
BUNDLE BONUS ENDING – I bought the Dainty Delight Dies in a bundle with the coordinating Dainty Delight Stamp Set (not used today). Ordering the two products using a single ‘bundle’ item number saved me 10% off the cost of buying the same two items separately. Although the dies and stamp set will both appear in the 2023/2024 Annual Catalogue, the discounted bundle will no longer be available after May 1st. I’ve included a link to the bundle in case you want to explore that option while it’s still available.
