It’s Friday the 13th and there’s a snowstorm going on outside. Kind of how it feels inside my head right now with this nasty cold. It’s definitely a day to stay in and craft and that’s precisely what I intend to do. Today’s project is a quick one using the Dainty Flowers 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP). This gorgeous DSP reminds me of Victorian dried flower pictures I’ve seen in many stately homes in England. With a design this pretty I really didn’t have to do much else.

DAINTY PANELS
I began with a sheet from the Dainty Flowers pack that had eight distinct floral arrangements. Along each side there are three oval shapes with an area in the centre that’s perfect for a sentiment. Down the centre of the sheet are two long thin floral arrangements which are perfect for bookmarks. So having separated the floral panels I trimmed one of the long pieces to 2-1/16″ x 6″. This allowed the design to be centred on the strip
From there used a Blending Brush to add a touch of Pale Papaya ink around the edges and over the corners. Now my DSP had that aged look common on vintage pieces.
Then I cut a 2-1/8″ x 6-1/8″ piece of Pale Papaya Card. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I mounted the DSP on top leaving a tiny border.
Next, using the Very Best Trio Punch I punched a slot at the top of the assembled strips. I cut 6″ of Old Olive 1/4″ Twill Ribbon and threaded that through the slot. Then to hold it in place I used a little piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive folded over the area of card above the slot.

At this point I thought I was done but then as I looked at the punch I had an idea to add fancy corners. Howewer instead of punching the pieces off the corner of my bookmark I decided to add to them. So I attached some Adhesive Sheet to the back of some scraps of Copper Foil Sheet before punching the corners off. Then, using my Stampin’ Trimmer to help line them up, I fixed each ‘waste’ piece onto the corners of my project. Finally my vintage bookmark was complete.
The copper corner accents really added a special touch to the bookmark. I just can’t believe I’ve never thought to use the punch this way before!

So elegant, Tracy. The corner additions from the Trio Punch are brilliant.
