When you hear that a stamp set is called Daisy Lane you might think that your projects will end up full of daisies. Well while that may be true, there are other images in the set that are just as pretty. So for today’s Simple Sunday project I’m concentrating on the detailed fern image instead.

A SPRUCED UP BACKGROUND
I began by stamping the large fern image over a layer of Very Vanilla Card using Shaded Spruce ink. Then I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to attach it to a card base of Smoky Slate Card.
Next I took another layer of Very Vanilla Card and stamped the fern coming in from the bottom right corner. This layer was then fixed inside the card base with more liquid glue.
Finally I stamped the fern over the flap of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope to complete the project coordination.
A SIMPLE SMILE
For my sentiment I close the simple “smile” from the Daisy Lane Stamp Set. I stamped this onto a strip of Very Vanilla Card with Shaded Spruce ink and then set it aside.

Although I wanted to keep this card simple, I decided to add a little detail with some additional layers and a second colour. So I took a wide strip of Daffodil Delight Card and using a Simply Scored Board, scored two lines 1/4″ apart down the left and right sides.
I flipped the piece over so that the raised lines were on top and then attached it to some Smoky Slate Card with liquid glue. Finally, using Stampin’ Dimensionals I attached the layers to the card front, and fixed the sentiment on top.
In no time at all my daisyless Daisy Lane project was complete.
I love the pop of yellow on this masculine / gender neutral project. It certainly brightened up my grey Sunday morning.
If you want daisies, you’ll find some in a previous blog post Scary moments in the garden.

PRODUCT LIST
BUNDLE BONUS – I ordered the Daisy Lane Stamp Set and coordinating Medium Daisy Punch using the single bundle item number. This saved me 10% off the cost of buying the two items separately. The Medium Daisy Punch coordinates with the smaller of the two daisy images in the set. Although I didn’t use the punch today, I’ve included a link to the bundle below so you can explore that option if you wish.
You might already have the original Daisy Punch which has been available for a year or two. This larger punch coordinates with the large daisy image in Daisy Lane as well as a second stamp set, Daisy Delight, which is still available.
